In this episode, Justin and Bobby discuss…

  • Justin and Bobby start with a few minutes on Timpson (Texas) athlete Terry Bussey, who is ranked as the No. 19 overall prospect in the nation. Bussey is considering Texas, LSU, and Texas A&M, and while Texas is in a good position for Bussey, it’s not as good as the position the Tigers and Aggies have. However, Justin says to watch where Bussey makes his visits for any indication on his leaning.
  • The two go into a discussion about the recent scrimmage on the Longhorn practice fields. Justin said the common message he heard was that the defense had the better day, which is a mild repeat of how the first scrimmage went. The best news was no injuries and that Jalen Catalon had a big day.

  • Alfred Collins, who has been one of the more talked about players this fall, continues to have a strong preseason. Justin thinks the light has finally turned on for the former Cen-Tex standout, and credits putting him in different spots conducive to his success as part of the reason why.
  • The two follow with some discussion about the interior of the offensive line, with Jake Majors and DJ Campbell holding onto the center and right guard spots. That leaves Cole Hutson and Hayden Conner competing at left guard, with Conner likely having the edge but leaving Hutson as the backup for all three interior spots.
  • Running back is the next discussion and Cedric Baxter was a name both Justin and Bobby heard great things about. The game has gotten a bit easier for Baxter of late, and Justin thinks that will lend to Baxter playing down the stretch of games.
  • Cornerback comes next, with Malik Muhammad, Terrance Brooks, Ryan Watts, and Gavin Holmes all having strong camps. Justin believes that’ll force Terry Joseph and Blake Gideon to make tough decisions over the course of the next few weeks.
