The Texas Longhorns moved up five spots in the On3 Class Rankings to No. 11 with the commitment of 5-star tackle Brandon Baker.

The 6-foot-4.5, 303-pound right tackle prospect became the second On3 Industry Ranking five-star commitment for Steve Sarkisian and staff in the 2024 class, joining Colin Simmons.

Baker’s pledge now gives the Longhorns 18 commitments in the class with the final number expected to be 23 or 24 signees.

The commitment of Baker now provides the Longhorns with a clear path to a third straight top 5 class after finishing No. 5 in 2022 and No. 3 in 2023.

A combination of the two 5-stars remaining on the board plus 2-3 more top 300 ranked prospects would very likely vault Texas into the top 5, possibly as high as No. 3 once again.
