Both likely did just that, with Worthy breaking John Ross‘ NFL Combine record with a 4.21 in the 40-yard dash. Mitchell wasn’t too far behind, running a 4.34. The times were among the best run by wide receivers at the NFL Combine.

Worthy, a two-time first-team All-Big 12 wideout and a second-team All-American in 2023 as a punt returner, ran his time while measuring in at 5-foot-11.25, 165 pounds. His first time was an equally as blistering 4.25. He had an arm length of just over 32 inches, hands that were 8.75 inches, and a 74.25-inch wingspan.

An early round selection striving to work his way into the top 32 picks, Worthy also participated in the vertical jump and broad jump. Worthy posted a 41-inch vertical and a 10-11 broad jump. He did not do the bench press or any of the various shuttles, doing what was needed in his record setting dash.

In 2023, Worthy recorded the fastest speed in mph among college football players against Iowa State during a punt return for a touchdown that was nullified by block in the back penalty. Reel Analytics measured Worthy at 22.7 mph.

Worthy caught 75 passes for 1014 yards and five touchdowns in 2023. He also found some success as a trick play passer, converting one of his two attempts for 35 yards. Worthy passed for a touchdown in 2022 in his only attempt of the season.

For the Longhorns in 2023, Mitchell caught 55 passes for 845 yards. He posted a team leading 11 touchdown receptions, including one in the Longhorns’ College Football Playoff matchup with Washington. Prior to Texas, Mitchell caught 38 passes for 560 yards and seven scores across two years with the Georgia Bulldogs including a touchdown reception in all four of Georgia’s CFP games.

Not only did Mitchell post a phenomenal 40-yard dash, he had other strong testing numbers as well. He posted a vertical jump of 39.5 inches and a broad jump of 11-4. Mitchell measured in at just over 6-foot-2, weighed 205 pounds, and had 32.375-inch arms.

In addition to Worthy, Texas running back Keilan Robinson posted a time of 4.42.
