WeAreSC On3: Trojans Survive Huskies, Parris' Handshakes, Jackson's Hat Trick

WeAreSC On3 is a daily three-point briefing recapping the news and notes of USC athletics. In today’s edition, it’s Men’s Basketball defeating Washington in the Pac-12 Tournament. Also, Reggie Parris sheds light on USC’s pre-game handshakes, and Simone Jackson nets a hattrick for the Youth National Team.

USC Wins Pac-12 Opener Over Washington

The Trojans defeated the Huskies in the quarterfinal of the Pac-12 Tournament despite 23 turnovers. It was a back-and-forth affair all night as USC and Washington traded blows. In the end, a few key defensive stops and a pair of free throws from Reese Dixon-Waters secured the win. Boogie Ellis led the Trojans in scoring with 17 points.

Tomorrow, the Trojans will take on the UCLA Bruins at 8:30. The crosstown rivals split the season series and the winner will move onto the championship game.

Reggie Parris Shares Stories Behind Handshakes

All season long, senior Reggie Parris has met the Trojans’ starters with a unique handshake before games. The Trojans’ handshake guru shared some perspectives on the different rituals and the story behind them.

Simone Jackson Nets Hat Trick

Simone Jackson, a current freshman at USC, made headlines on Thursday when she scored three goals in 16 minutes for the United States Youth National Team.

Jackson is the sister of current USC WR John Jackson III.
