It's officially DUCK season. Started at CKLV... Frost final MFF against Larkin and Watters MFF against Zerban. Congrats Watters on being #1. (tic)

Remember it’s the “Flo Rankings brought to you by PayCom”, so if your team went to “National Duals by PayCom”, you get the benefit of the doubt. If your team didn’t go then you should be penalized for ruining wrestling.
There is no incentive to not duck when Flo doesn't punish them in the rankings.

The Nittany Lions were passed this week by Ohio State, which has been tested quite a bit more this year than PSU and picked up a huge win – and $200,000 top prize – at the inaugural National Duals Invitational."

How really cares at this point in the season. Barr will be back and Duke and Blaze will be in the top 5.
Do people really think Tim Flynn of all people promotes ducking?
Relax. We are just having fun with Kozak. He’s a good sport and comes on here to defend their positions. Just giving him a hard time. Nobody actually cares.
I suspect no PSU fan cares about the rankings especially in early December. So I am with you. But I am not a fan of self serving and slanted reporting and a supposedly "objective" and "transparent" Flo ranking process that seems very "subjective" based on their chosen methodology --- "Best Wins" which is ever changing. Early rankings start by removing seniors and then moving up everyone returning by their NCAA results so RD12 guys are initially ranked 5-8. Freshman are ignored until they beat a ranked wrestler so one win gets you one above the previously ranked wrestler.
FLO suggesting Ohio State has "passed" Penn State based on their ranking system is hilarious to me --- but they defend and promote it. Enough said.
I still think the solution to all of this is to count every match all year, MFFs included, and the team earns "seeds" in conference and Nationals based upon the team performance at the weight.
Wrestler rankings are only maintained for strength of schedule computations.
In short illness, loses, injury and most importantly ducking hurts your seed.
I am open to criticism, and would like to hear the downside.

Josh Barr returns in a month, goes undefeated including winning B10s. But he gets the 8 seed at nationals based upon Mirasola's W-L record, H2H losses, RPI, etc. Gets Elam in the quarters instead of the finals. If he loses, stinks for him. If he wins, stinks for Elam who did not earn that draw.
He said he was open to criticism but damn…
You guys are forgetting that the blo boys know much more about wrestling than all of us!And because of that we should never question anything they say or do!
And in the end, a full accounting will be had! Patience will be rewarded!

That was my point. We all know that you guys are going to kick our butts. Have a little humility, nothing lasts forever, as we Hawks have found out.
The rankings are assinine, there is no one close to you guys come tournament time.
No serious follower of wrestling would view these rankings as having any credibility.

Ty, I just love good wrestling. Yeah my ole Hawks aren't quite there at this point. I'm a big college fan but also a huge World fan. When the Lions wrestle the Hawks you know who I'm for. LolSeriously. Welcome aboard.

Too funny. You certainly know by now that this is the wrestling board where humility goes to die.
There is a time and place. Cael and his wrestlers are much more so than almost every fan of PSU wrestling. Humility will show up eventually. I am not sure how long after Cael retires, but sometime after his retirement humility or soul sucking bitterness will set in.
Most of us are into the friendly banter, nothing very serious.. Keep a thick skin, there are a few that don't understand "friendly" banter.

If I were doing the rankings, I would have OSU at #1 too.
Close wins over quality wrestlers impress me more than blowouts over nonqualifiers. We have faced only one returning AA so far (Novak); they have faced close to 20.
I expect things to change once we get into the Big Ten season, but to this point, the Buckeyes have earned their rankings.
