Said it earlier…the way the move it looks like they are skating on the bigger ice.
It’s a strong system that stays away from the walls which are the 6th defender.
Rangers and Paul Mulcahy have a lot in common when in comes to being forced to the outside and pinned to the baseline

Picking Devils to win Stanley Cip.
They will bludgeon Rangers if they play.
Pains me to say it
I expect the Devils to beat the Rangers. I don’t see them winning the Cup if they have to go against Boston or Tampa with a goaltending disadvantage.

If the NHL kept records on “number of turnovers by making a low percentage cross ice pass that was easily intercepted by the defense”, Panarin would have broken it easily today.

Was just about to post something similar. He’s clearly trying to get something going with Kane, but it’s nothing but turnover after turnover.

I’m fairness Krup.
Panarin and every other wing have no one to pass the puck to.
They constantly have their back to the offensive zone, no speed no momentum

Turnovers have been a problem for Panarin all year. He looks way worse constantly trying to force the puck to Kane and, to make things worse, Kane is staying wide and looking to pass too much as well.

Pretty easy to defend a team where both wingers are playing outside.

Coaches doors are open.
If I was a Rangers player I’d sit with GG and tell him:
Coach, I can’t take a stride without being checked and smothered, I’m forced to make a decision with the puck the second I get it.
Coach, our zone system allows tons of speed and room, we’ve got to do something different, we don’t pressure the puck, you have us backing up

The inexplicable thing about the Rangers is that Gallant didn’t change them to this system. Conceding your blue line to the other team and trying to keep them to the outside was something done under Quinn as well, and they just stuck with it.

That is why they have always matched up well against Carolina and would have much more of a chance against them than the Devils (Carolina takes too many low percentage shots which plays into the Rangers’ hands).

On offense, I don’t see how you succeed in the playoffs when only 2 of your top 6 forwards will get within 10 feet of the front of the net.

Agreed.
Quinn preached being on “the right side of the puck”
The definition of it leaves trailers open and speed through the neutral zone….is that not what we see?

The Rangers play the Pens three times in a week soon. They can get themselves dragged back into the wild card mess if they don’t get their **** together.
I expect it.
Rangers will have no answers for Guenzal, Crosby, Malkin or Letang.
The only chance is if Igor stands on his head…. He’s our best player, “he come up big” GG.
Just the way it is.
80-20 territorial advantage.
5 to 1 grade A’s
Favor of Pittsburgh

April 8th is NCAA hockey championship
Luke will probably skate in practice for a week. Looking at April 15-ish if Michigan makes it to finals
Playoffs start April 17. He ll need some regular season games under his belt. Guess we root for a quick exit by Michigan.

Scheduling with 2 games back to back at same rink vs same team is awful. Do better NHL! Devils have same situation vs Tampa in 2 weeks and did same vs Bruins in December

Canes is just not beating TB 4-0, they're whipping them, it's 23-4 SOG, that's right, Canes have as many goals as TB does shots.

The Rangers likely will play a big part in the Islanders' playoff chances and of their seeding, with the Broadway Blues having three games each against both Buffalo and Pittsburgh.

Pathetic gag job by the Devils.

They were not thinking of holding the lead and inexplicably got burned on an off man rush with a late lead thanks to the franchise player not engaged into the game

I don’t trust this team one bit

It doesn’t know how to close out games

It’s going nowhere this playoffs

Our goaltending is still a big question mark, this is Vanecek’s last 5 games:

.840 SV% 4 GA
.862 SV% 5 GA
.737 SV% 4 GA
.864 SV% 3 GA
.765 SV% 4 GA

Blackwood has shown he's not the answer either, we might need to think about rolling with this Schmid kid for a bit.

Keep laughing Ronnie.

Tonight’s choke is worrisome

Poor goaltending yet again

blowing late leads a lot

the franchise player forgetting how to score since he’s been back from injury and being a minus player again

One quick thought before my take on my team recently, if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything. I go with this old adage 😆.

The goaltending I agree with, it's regressed to almost same form last year.

I think Fitz needs to make it an priority in the off-season.
