Just heard about Zach Top recently. I feel like I stepped in a time machine. Playing with Dierks Bentley in Camden this Summer.

Agreed I like him a lot. Check out this one.

There is so much good country music coming out. From Red Dirt country in Texas/Oklahoma toWyoming/Montana. I think the crap from Nashville that ranges from pop to rap influences is fading. Saw Ian Mushnick a few weeks ago in Penns Peak—great show. Penns Peak is the best concert venue around ( and hardly anyone knows about it).

This band called The Men from Brooklyn has been around since 2008. First time hearing them, on Altrok, Brookdale's HD2 station:

I like this 2nd teaser song better than the 1st single. Her politics is complete garbage but she is still Shirley. Love the guitar work on this one

Another album “Pilgrim” released by Jesse Welles. I believe that’s 3 albums released in about a years time. This guy is prolific and a true artist . This tune is social commentary with some help by none other than Billy Strings:

First full length album by Evan Nicole Bell who I became aware of about a year ago. The album is “Shades of Blue”. This song is “River”. My admiration went up when I heard a great cover of The Allman Bros “ Not My Cross To Bear” she did on this album:

Anyone into Amon Amarth- is this Viking rock, which is not be confused with Yacht Rock. Wikipedia describes them as melodic death metal.

Yungblud has quite buzz going since his performance of the Black Sabbath song Change at the Back to the Beginning show. New album out. Seeing lots of fans of Ozzy commenting under the videos .

Zombie

Hello Heaven:

Here is Yungblud giving Ozzy a handmade cross gift at Back to the Beginning.

Ozzy gives Yungblud some great advice: "Just keep going. Don't give in."

Best new song ive heard in 2025

I'm certain I posted in reply to this but maybe it was during the time of the lost posts. Love these guys and like Favourite even more - was possibly my favorite song of last year.

I'm generally not a big fan of most new music from older artists, many of whom just seem to be trying to cash in on previous fame, but David Byrne has been one artist who never really stopped and has continued, IMO, to make relevant music, including some cool collaborations, like with St. Vincent. Anyway, his fairly recent single Everybody Laughs is just an infectiously happy confection with a bit of a dark undertone, which he has often specialized in.

May have posted this band before, PInkshift, out of Baltimore, Maryland. They cite Arctic Monkeys, Nirvana and No Doubt as influences. Coming to Asbury Lanes in October. Love the energy.

I think you may have posted that song during the transition to this new site, and it appears to have gotten lost in the transition. I tried using the search function, and . . . . . . oh, nevermind. Solid and fun song.

Speaking of old bands making new music. seminal NY hardcore band Biohazard is back with Billy and Evan leading the way. I think the song is Fork the System. . . . ;)

And speaking of NY hardcore, Orange 9mm is recording a new album, and here is their first single. They are actually deemed post-hardcore, but whatever.

First saw Orange 9mm in 1994 or 1995 on the Warped Tour and at the Stone Pony. Very high energy and wild crowd. Here's a clip from that tour.

Probably my "new" favorite song, from MJ Lenderman, who I had posted about last year (the song "She's Leaving You" with the Waxahatchee lead). This is a cover of a This Is Lorelai song, totally redone (and way better, IMO). Will be interesting to see if MJ breaks through into the big time, as he's become moderately popular - he's certainly talented enough, musically and as a songwriter (and has album, "Manning Fireworks" from last year did garner an 8.7 from Pitchfork which is rarefied air), but who knows...
