Japanese slugger Kazuma Okamoto will be posting. Corner infielder. Right handed bat.
I have wonderful news for all you Richard Lovelady fans out there! Especially if you are among his close friends who call him Dicky.
Lovelady signed a one year major league contract with the Mets. He will be on the off-season 40 man roster and presumably will get guaranteed money.
I wish I were left-handed. And young. And talented. 0 for 3.
Yeah, if they had been throwing games, that would have provided a logical explanation for their performances.Saddened to hear that Ryan Helsley and David Peterson were not arrested today as part of the FBI sting given their end of season performances !![]()
Also rumors Mets are interested in trading for Yandy Diaz. Could both be just trying to make the other blink.John Heyman reporting the Yankees are very interesting in Pete Alonso. That would be crushing. If Pete moves on, I'd love it to be anywhere else, far far away.
This could just be agent rumors to get the bidding war going and raise the price for the Mets
This we know: John Heyman is a professional reporter who doesn't make **** up. If he is reporting it he got it from somewhere - either from the Yankees, or from Scott Boras. I'm guessing Door #2.John Heyman reporting the Yankees are very interesting in Pete Alonso. That would be crushing. If Pete moves on, I'd love it to be anywhere else, far far away.

If the Yankees do have serious interest in Alonso, which would not surprise me, I doubt they'd choose to broadcast it through Heyman or anyone else. Boras on the other hand...Heyman is a big time shill for the Yankees.
Can certainly see Yankees interested in him however I doubt it.
Judge will eventually move to 1b making Alonso a full time DH and with Stanton there for the time being ….

I think more teams than expected will at least make an offer to Pete. Do they offer the number he wants? Who knows. The Padres most glaring weakness in their lineup is 1B/DH. Alonso is such an obvious target. Pods will lose a lot of people to free agency (Arraez, Suarez, Cease, King). The only one I'd like to see them bring back from this group would be King #1 and Cease as a second option. Miller takes over as closer.
I hope they go into the bidding for Alonso.

King is a guy that should cash in, would love to see the Mets go after him.
Arraez must be a frustrating player on a team. Guy can put the bat on the ball but it is so strange that for as many hits he gets each year, guy never scores much at all. No power, speed
Plus Arraez plays first where you need a power batI think more teams than expected will at least make an offer to Pete. Do they offer the number he wants? Who knows.

He is just a weird player...never strikes out but never walks...gets 180-200+ hits every year but will score only 60-80 runs, no power at all and yet, no speed either. But you would think with all of his hits and having some big bats in the lineup with him, he would be scoring 90-100 runs every year.Plus Arraez plays first where you need a power bat
When he gets on base you need two hits to score him.He is just a weird player...never strikes out but never walks...gets 180-200+ hits every year but will score only 60-80 runs, no power at all and yet, no speed either. That's most players if they're on 1st base. Depending on what kind of hits of course. When he gets on base you need two hits to score him.
I wonder what his pitching philosophy is. And whether it differs from the Hefner philosophy of don't worry about walking people, just keep them in the park.![]()
