Millard South (Neb.) star quarterback Jett Thomalla is in the midst of a stellar senior season, and is looking to establish himself as one of the best high school football prospects to ever come through Nebraska.

Already through four games, he has thrown for more than 1,000 yards and 20 touchdowns while leading the Patriots to a 3-1 mark. Now he’s starting to rewrite the state’s history books. On Friday, he became the career passing touchdown leader in state history for Class A ball.

Midway through the second quarter, his 15-yard touchdown strike to Missouri commit Isaac Jensen officially gave him the state record with 94 career TD throws.

It also put Millard South up 42-0 on rival Millard North, a game which they ultimately won 70-7. Behind Thomalla and a stellar offense, the Patriots have outscored their opponents 256-14 in the first four games. That includes a couple of in-state opponents, as well as one of Nevada’s premier high school programs: Arbor View. That game though, was ultimately declared a forfeit for the Patriots after the NSAA penalized them for allowing two players to live with a volunteer assistant coach despite not having legal guardianship over them.

Even with that loss on their resume, the Patriots sit just outside the top-25 national rankings, according to the Massey Ratings. They’re also the presumed favorites to take home the state title later this fall, and it’s hard to see why they wouldn’t with Thomalla leading the charge.

Thomalla is locked in with the Crimson Tide

Coming off a junior campaign where he passed for 3,664 yards with 47 touchdowns and three interceptions, Thomalla was committed to Iowa State. But Alabama’s staff continued to pursue him and ultimately flipped him in June.

Since then, he has been back on campus multiple times and has a few more scheduled visits this fall.

He recently told BamaOnLine.com that other schools have continued to recruit him, but he is all set with his future in Tuscaloosa.

“I’ve already got my roommates picked out,” Thomalla said. “Right when I committed, Mack Sutter texted me saying he was gonna join me, and we said we’d be roommates. I’m close with him, Owen (Cabell), too. We’ll all be in Tuscaloosa together next week, and all the commits are coming for the Tennessee game. That will be a lot of fun, too.”

Between now and then, his focus is on securing that state championship and continuing to rack up record-breaking numbers for Millard South.
