The guy has been out of the first weekend once in his career and LSU acts like they've hired John Wooden. Good coach but the exuberance is wild for a guy with a pretty thin resume in a changed landscape that doesn't compliment what used to be his cutting edge.

Didn’t they fire him for cheating a few years ago?

Cult of personality. LSU is going full blown villain university and Wade is unabashedly scummy. That makes him endearing to that fanbase.

This would be like firing Josh Heupel and rehiring Jeremy Pruitt.
The only difference is they fired Wade before the it hit the fan.

There is a stick it to the establishment component. And, I know we’ve talked about this before, at some of these football centric programs, the basketball needs to not be boring. And Will ain’t boring…….
Matt McMahon, bless his heart, didn’t move a needle at a place that needs a Dale Brown or Will Wade type.

I think it’s just as obvious they think the best formula to accomplish that ie to surround yourself with rather slimy coaches that live in the gray area or even lower places. The LSU administration is apparently really comfortable doing that. The guy has been out of the first weekend once in his career and LSU acts like they've hired John Wooden.
