It’s not Mark Pope’s fault that he sucks. It’s Mitch Barnhart’s fault that he ever got hired.

At some point I question how much does Pope really care? I know he gets it, understands expectations, but he’s also a multi millionaire and never has to worry about money or happiness. He’s got a great family and support. but do we really believe he or anyone in the program cares that much anymore? Is a sweet sixteen today’s modern day title for us? you need a coach that’s an ego maniac psycho, and people inside the program obsessed with winning.

Mitch Barnhart wants his legacy to be that he elevated the status of Kentucky football, but what he will be remembered for is he ruined the greatest tradition in college basketball to do it.

I don’t necessarily think pope sucks, I just think he is at level above what he is capable of.

We are a villain program. Its takes a villain to win here. People don't like it, certainly not MB, but it's just the way it is.

We just live in an embarrassing time for Kentucky basketball. Barnhart, pope, JMI, the three headed monster.

Mitch apparently thinks so because he gave an extension on him getting to a sweet 16 . Had a very mediocre season last year and a horrible season this year idc about the injuries you had 22 million dollars and wasted it on this crap outside of MM, Collin Chandler and Otega oweh none of them are worth $5 . Think about this we’re about to have 10+ losses and we’re supposed to be happy with a 8 seed and a first round exit of both the conference and NCAA tournament we already can’t win the regular season what’s to play for outside of participating and just end the season on a good note . Couldn’t have gotten a coach with a worse resume. He’s won barely 50% of his conference games in an average league this year outside of Florida and Arkansas. Big 12 ,acc , big ten are all better and we can’t even win the conference when we’re the 4 th best conference. Hire him at ole miss ,or South Carolina, north western , Maryland, Rutgers New Mexico, Grand Canyon those are the type of jobs we’re mark pope is made for programs with no expectations and if you win great if you lose nobody cares . He’s a nice guy good Christian great player but he’s not made for this he’s just not. He’ll have another season but people who think it’s just magically think we’re just gonna get every portal stud and pope snap his fingers over night and make it all better next year your fooling yourself. If your a serious basketball program you can’t keep him after next season it should be this year but with what we have as a AD it won’t happen and if Mitch doesn’t retire before the end of next year then he’ll get a year 4 . So help me God

I truly believe he cares a lot about this program, and that may be the problem, he cares so much that he really not looking at the whole picture objectively.

I just don’t understand what happened lol. Like the entire conversation last year was about being analytically savvy, elite assistants, fast paced offense, etc. Where tf did it go

Yeah, people need to realize this is a national USA Today article that was just shared by the CJ, who's owned by the CJ.

Wow, seems like a tough article to me. One that wouldn't have been written if we would have won Saturday. Little over-reaction if you ask me. You might could write it at the end of the season if things keep up.

An absolutely ridiculous article that was written by a national football guy. Purely for clicks, which is pretty ironic considering what Pope said to the journalism students yesterday. I wish nothing but good for our football program, but if we're a 25-30 basketball team this year, we weren't even close to that in football. There's no logic in the article, just an attempt to get people to feel some type of way about it. Which obviously I did, so I guess it worked :ROFLMAO:

They are obviously morons over at the CJ. In 2021 after Calipari finished 9-16, the football team won 10 games. Calipari definitely made UK a football school, never underestimate his ineptitude.
