Durk, man…

How long can we keep him as DC? Or does he get a p4 job after this coming season, and half our defense transfers. Sheesh. What a stud.

I have a feeling his HC opportunity is coming very soon. But he likes Auburn I think, so I don’t think he’d jump on any of them…

hopefully we can keep him like Saban did Kirby and Durk won't leave until a great job opens up.

I’d be surprised if this wasn’t his last year here. Seems like we have been really lucky to keep him this long.

That situation at Maryland may prevent him from being a HC again but I can see him leaving for the NFL.

He isn't a young coach anymore. He, and his wife, love Auburn. Just built their dream house. I think they want to stay until retirement. I don't think he leaves.

He has been available for head jobs for two straight years now.

It won’t. He’ll get another chance. But I think with how much their family likes Auburn, it won’t be for a Maryland type job. I think he can be picky and wait for a chance at a better situation (decent NIL, facilities, etc.)

I mean that would be great, but if a solid P4 ever comes calling, I feel that he would leave. I mean who wouldn’t? Hopefully it does love it that much.

I think that coordinators are being much more choosy with the jobs they take. In today’s world being a head coach is not always an upgrade. Gotta be at a place where they will support you financially. Otherwise making a few million dollars a year a coordinator at AU is an awesome gig.

He’s being compensated well enough to wait for a large job to open up. The question is if a large school would want to hire him as HC

FWIW. He wasn’t there when it happened. He was a scapegoat for bad season where he lost two QBs to injury. He was invited to speak at the kids funeral as well.

DJ in the 6th highest paid coordinator in college (crazy) and his salary is comparable to American and Mountain west HC pay or low end of Big 12. So I don’t see him jumping for even money to a Houston or Tulane caliber program. When you double it, what it would probably take to get them looking, you’ve got options. FSU, Scar could be options if they open up.

He's a well compensated P4 coordinator. He probably won't get a big HC job offer, so unless he has that drive to go work his way up as a G5 HC, I think he'll be here.

Keeping VKW is right up there w keeping DJ. Defensive line will fall apart, both current and recruiting.
