Interesting Tony V Press Conference

He's going to run his mouth out of a job come October. In for a rude awakening. And folks want to be mad at Danny. Tony is a great personality and a great coach, but he needs a publicist.

He’s such an odd interview with the media. Ton of wild quotes and tangents in his time here, especially last season when you could tell he was frustrated by random things. I’m curious how his personality plays in the media at the pro level.

Never seen him act like that. It was like he was literally looking at all the reporters and wishing he was looking at Cain and Mike.

That was odd.

That's a particularly strange interview given how long ago now all that went down. I know he's had some media availability since he took the job. I wonder if he was asking the person that "broke the story" because he hasn't had a chance to ask them yet. Some interesting comments too about how the story breaking seemed to affect the course of history. Seemed to be implying if the rumors hadn't started, it may have never even materialized. Also interesting that apparently Ross and E confronted him about it.

Tony is so comfortable in speaking his mind. It will be interesting to see how it plays out in MLB. He has turned a Giants hater into a fan. I hope he thrives. He most certainly will do it his way.

Just please not Arkansas. My heart can’t take it. Elander is going to be successful here and Tony is likely going to want back into the college game at some point.

He's the best coaching interview in the history of sports outside of maybe Bob Knight. I've never seen a coach be so open, honest and vulnerable with the media. It's why he's so endearing. You know you're getting a real answer.

He's going to find out real fast They play the Yankees, Padres and Mets the first two weeks...

That authenticity is also what makes him such a great recruiter.

I've watched it 3 times now and still unsure what point he is trying to make. Really strange. Just seemed like he wanted to pick a fight that day

It sounds like he thinks he knows where it came from. Either his agent or someone in the UTAD.

He is going to be dealing with veteran sports writers who have done this for a long time. Here, he primarily dealt with really young writers who just got started and weren’t very experienced.

Tony, they don't love you like you were loved at Tennessee. Might want to get ready for a hostile press, and how to handle tough questions. I wish him well.

Not a coincidence that our season started this weekend in a place he basically built

I bet a guy like this would do pretty well in the college game.
