If you like turnovers more than assists, Shrews is your guy.

It appears as of today that BOTH basketball coaches are not up to the job. Women's basketball should be a staple in the top 10 every single season. Men's basketball should be more a 22-10 type program and that's a success. Both are not happening. Maybe something changes. We shall see.

Its like gym class basketball. Playing for fun and fn around. It seems like losing doesn't bother them. It's like they expect it

Yeah, he ought to be canned mid season. This team quit. I really thought he had a chance to don some special things here, but blech. If I see one more offensive series where all we do is DHO’s at the top of the arc until 10 seconds then put it on some dudes hands that has no business dribble driving or to Haralson to watch him try to back down from above the free throw line I might throw up.

He did step in to a dire situation. They should be better. He does have some good young talent that needs to bulk up. Not recruiting a back up point guard was unwise. As for coach Ivey, she has totally mismanaged the program. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that you can’t play six players 30+ games and expect them to be at their best. You have some players on the bench that you can certainly put in for a few minutes every game and if you don’t, then that’s on the coach.Look forward to the B&G spring game, that’s all we have.

This is gonna sound crazy but at this point I think we need to move on from Shrews. We can take our time finding his replacement but at least to finish the season out we'd be better off going with just some random player's dad. Doesn't even have to be a starter. I didn't know just picking at random, how about this random dad?

I think he needs a fourth season. If he goes at the end of the year, then it’s another total rebuild. They made a mistake building this team. It is like a house of cards and when Burton went down, so did the entire house. He needs a fourth year. Get two real big men here, a real point guard and a seasoned Haralson. I’d say if next year is another bad year, he shouldn’t get a 5th year.

I have been a huge hoops fans for years. But I am at the point where I just check the scores and if the game is close, I will tune in. I can’t invest the time to watch something so disappointing. I miss what ND had 10 years ago.

One winning season in 6 as a HC, we know what he is and zero need for a 4th year. Whenever a HC changes it’s going to be a total rebuild. He’s not gonna get transfers, why would any devent transfers come play for him?

I know Im in the minority, but I would give Shrews 1 more year. Losing Burton is an absolute killer when most of your talent is in the true freshmen/true sophomore classes. To me next season, it's tourney or your gone. I don't care who gets hurt, no more excuses. Your current freshmen would now be sophomores and your sophomores are now upperclassmen.

Same here. It’s just so hard to watch the constant struggles.

It’s hard to argue to say he is. It doesn’t help he has lost his best player 2 rows in a row. They were playing their best basketball under Shrews when they beat TCU and Missouri and it has been bad basketball since. These teams just like the same teams under Mcleod though. Unathletic and slow. Brey was here 2 years too long though and killed ND basketball. With this portal era, it won’t look pretty for ND football for 2 years if the whole team graduates and the rest transfer to other schools.

We don’t have the NIL for good transfers. We’re spending it on recruiting and keeping Burton. They are playing the long game.

You're wrong, imo. He does not have the players, and it is not his fault he doesn't.

Honestly with the way college sports is now. No matter when’s you do it it is a total rebuild. So no protection there anymore. Both programs are bad

He is about to not make the tournament, again…..he needs to be gone, its crazy seeing schools like VaTech beating up on ND as they maintain pretty darn good teams every year yet the Irish cant…i just dont get it….

I think he is probably getting a 4th year, I just don’t know if he deserves it. This team is really bad at most aspects of the game. It’s really too bad. ND needs to get serious about basketball. Bothe the men’s and women’s programs are underachieving. I think changes probably need to be made w both teams. I think a new arena needs to be built and some serious reinvention of the brand needs to occur.
