Will add a clip when it's available but Kenny just gave his take on Hubert and the vacancy. IMO, it was ridiculous and quite frankly, embarrassing. This "Carolina Family" thing is cult like and should not come ahead of what is best for the program and the university. Serious cringe watching that.

Yes he did. I get his point of retiring a Tar Heel. But Dean and Gut came from Kansas and KState. If the ‘family’ started w them…..it can expand and still be a family.

It’s mind numbing — Bruce Pearl did something similar: “I just can’t get over the phrase…Carolina fires Hubert Davis.”
Yet, they never mention anything regarding his actual coaching/results. It’s the strangest thing.

What’s “disrespectful” is to keep taking boosters money at the tune of $15 million per year to go 26-39 in Quad 1 games….
all so they can backslap each other in the locker room in the name of “family”…

And this is one of the reasons going outside the family could be helpful. Prove that someone other than a DES disciple can win at UNC. I wish we had an option to keep it in the family but we just don’t.

Totally agree. He had time to consider this and it came off not only disjointed but really insular, as if anyone outside the family should be a suspicious character.

If you never allow new members of the family it is called incest.
Only a very few players were born into it - Kenny will soon have a second son who is a beneficiary.
Caleb Wilson is a Tar Heel, but he didn’t become one until he enrolled. Does that make him a less legitimate member of the family? Hell no!

Respect all these alums’ right to voice their opinion, but I think they would be better served to communicate directly with Hubert. The fact that the alums see things SO differently than the majority of the fan base, donors, and administrators, just demonstrates why it’s time to shed the “family” requirement. It really has started to hold the program back. Still love the Jet though!!!!

Some are going to be very upset and some not as much. Im pretty sure I saw a clip posted today where John Henson was excited for the future of UNC basketball. Positive thoughts gets less headlines though
