LSU Coaching Buzz: Matt McMahon's future ... and Will Wade's

I've been on the phone a bit last night and a LOT this morning. Here's everything I know about what is happening behind the scenes as the push to get Will Wade to return to LSU heated up overnight to the point where it's spread across the entire internet. I also have some scoop on LSU's push and role being offered to McNeese AD Heath Shroyer, who is another key piece to the faction of power players who have been working behind the scenes with LSU, boosters and more to make the move to get Wade to leave NC State for LSU. I know, I know Wade is an intelligent and savvy guy. My excitement will mostly hinge on if Wade can be guaranteed/negotiate NIL in the teens and higher as years ensue. Receiving $9 or $10 million in NIL is still very low in the SEC and won't make much progress for the program, if that's the case. The LSU brass will need to commit at least in the teens for NIL in order to give WW a fair shot at being competitive in SEC and tourney contender. This program desperately needs more than just WW being hired. NIL is as important to this equation.

Whoever they bring in I’m behind them 💯 I was all in on CMM. And if he does get relieved I wish him the best. I think he’s a good guy. If it’s Wade then let’s go and start rebuilding. Again.

"Schroyer’s role would not be the same one Ausberry served in before becoming LSU’s AD, sources said. The likely role would be an AD position under Ausberry that oversees basketball and works externally with government affairs, sources tell me." In other words, a direct line to Gov. Landry?
