If Mark Pope were to get fired after this season, who would be your top options to go after? Assume no current blue blood coaches or coaches that are retired. Here's my list and reasonings:
1. Dusty May: Probably not leaving Michigan because of NIL support they have but he's proven at multiple levels now and you may be able to pull him away from Michigan somehow
2. TJ Oltzelberger: Young coach who has consistently had Iowa State as a good team. Consistently has good Kenpom numbers as well and would probably be able to pull him away from Iowa State
3. Oats/Golden: Young coaches who are both proven and should be able to pull them away from current schools with NIL support, blue blood draw
EDITED:
I'd rather not take a reach again like we did on Pope but if we did there's 2 I would. Shaheen Holloway and Ben McCollum

Solid list although I don’t think May is realistic.
I’m gonna try not to get annoyed when someone inevitably mentions Will Wade

If you can pull Oats or May you gotta do it but realistic option wise I’m going with TJ Oltzelberger. I wanted him in 2024 and still do.

I don't see May leaving Michigan. Not this soon
I think Oats will be at KU
I wanted Lloyd last time
Pope is a career 63% winning coach. It's not getting better with the money he's had at UK. Just pull the band aide off take the hits and get someone in here who can coach and recruit.
Cal and his family are laughing.

I’d also add Will Wade and Chris Beard even though they would never get hired here

Only one from the op's list that would possibly come would be Otzelberger...but I even doubt he would....This isn't the old days when 90% of coaches would crawl just to be the coach here

Would assume Florida, Alabama, and Iowa State are all at about $10 millionOnly one from the op's list that would possibly come would be Otzelberger...but I even doubt he would....This isn't the old days when 90% of coaches would crawl just to be the coach here

I hope he makes a couple of staff changes and hires a GM.
