Norvell has moved from disliked to hated

The general vibes I get from Nole people is no longer just, “ugh I feel sorry for the guy. He’s in over his head,” to “F#<¥ this guy.” I believe the situation is now extremely toxic, which represents a shift from bad to disastrous.

That ship has sailed. He has proven to be inconsistent if anything. One good season under him does not mean the following season will be the same

My understanding is that there's a bit of this sentiment within the athletics department and across our fundraising entities. Everyone in those offices knows he'd have been booted if not for his poison pill contract buyout, this has led to some level of disdain.

Yeah. If you hate a guy like that you really gotta take a step back and adjust your priorities/get in control of your emotions.

Norvell will get the 2026 season to see if he can change public perception in the Nole community.

I don't hate him, at all. He just needs to get better at his job.

Only the "torches and pitchforks" crowd, friend. Try to hang around some better people, with a more balanced view of life. And I say that in the friendliest possible way, not as an insult.

Yeah. This place slants opinions drastically for the worst. I've never met a Seminole in real life that I believe comes anywhere close to "hating" Mike Norvell. I still know some that support him more than I think is warranted.

Gus made the decision, not Mike. Some will have to make a decision like this about family, especially caring for elders. I would expect Gus has a lot of wear and tear mentally and physically and lets face it….maybe he has 25 years left to enjoy family. You can’t get time back and maybe Gus is like Saban…I’m done with chaos and all the NIL.

I don't hate the man, but I do think he's terrible at his job.

Then make that decision when you're done at UCF...Not when you take a low hanging fruit offer you dont really care about.

After last season, I sent him a "thank you" card with a handwritten sentiment expressing my deep gratitude for his efforts here.

Mike is toast, but a rather wealthy toast at that.

I would love to see him and FSU have a great season and then leave on his own accord. That would be a great time for him and the fans to have a fresh start with someone else.

I agree I think he’s a good guy but I still hate how he has run the football team

I think Mike is a great person and wants more than anything to win at FSU. BUT I have zero confidence he can right the ship. Time will tell... and we have no choice but to let it play out

Sounds like pretty much every coach faces in their career.

He's not just toast, he's buttered and jellied with a plate full of scattered, smothered, and covered. Dang, craving some Waffle House now!!
