OT: Bryce Underwood is a Fool

He’s not going to ever reach the potential he could have had if he came here because he chased a short term bag with Michigan. How the hell do you have the #1 QB in the country, a “generational” talent and not have a dedicated QB coach for him. Moore not being able to keep his hands off his assistant might be the best thing that’s ever happened to the UM program.

I said that when he flipped. Maybe he WILL put it all together at UM and become a top draft pick But his potential is severely limited there, even with Whittingham. He played the short-term game instead of the long-term one

But that’s just crazy to not have a designated QB coach with him on roster. Moore wasn’t some offensive genius as a coach but he was supposed to be competent as a program leader after Harbaugh.

he rarely threw the football in HS , he’s a michigan player if we’re being honest.

We’re all caught up in the Underwood info, and no one caught that it’s Kyle Whittingham, not Dillingham. Lol.

I remember watching his passes when he was at Tiger Stadium, that day he wasn't that good.

Yup, ironically, because they (he and his father) specifically talked about playing the long game and doing what was necessary to eventually become a top draft pick and HOF player. Just goes to show how difficult it is to stick to their principles and ideals when large sums of money are thrown in their face. Still, he was walking into a vastly inferior situation, so I still reserve the right to call the move remarkably stupid - back then and even more so now for not moving on. Oh well. We’ll see what he looks like in 2026.

I looked it up. They had Chip Lindsey as the OC/QB coach. Last year we did the same thing with JSloan. I love that Kiffin has freed up both coordinators. I can't comprehend that. You need at least one coach for the most important role on the team.

Whittingham is a good coach; I think he will put him in a way better position than that hack they had before

Whittingham is a good program stabilizer. IDK if they'll win big with him, but they'll be able to flush all the scandals down the drain

I think that's such a huge thing and surprised more teams don't do it. Let your coaches coach and coordinators pcoordinate. I guess it's tough with the number of coaches to walk into that scenario but I think that takes some unneeded stress off and allows them to focus more

Is Joe Sloan and BK an upgrade?

Michigan’s new OC Jason Beck is the real deal. His mechanics somehow looked worse by the end of the year, but I love Underwood’s potential in that offense.

Yeah if BK was as bad as we think and the most dreadful looking offense I can't say he would have had a much better experience here playing behind nuss. Matter of fact if he was here we may have had to overpay to keep him from portal b after this epic fail of a season. Everything happens for a reason. He is right were he needs to be

out of his 11 game HS Senior year season , he threw the ball over 20+ times …twice. Finishing that season with a whopping 2,321 Total passing yards. For comparison -Ju’Juan Johnson played 14 games that same year and threw UNDER 20 times only 5 times , compiling 3,630 yards. Also Ju’Juan ran for 1500 yards and was 10th in yardage NATIONALLY -So like I said he rarely threw the ball anyways , and quite honestly he knew that

Would he have stayed at LSU under last years conditions?

While I understand that Michigan was a terrible idea. He would’ve been coached by Joe Sloan here, so not sure how much better that would’ve been.

Yeah, OP is ignoring that our offense was just as bad and we also didn’t have a dedicated QB coach haha. He could’ve ended up in a Lane offense which could’ve been amazing for him, but now he’s gonna be in a really good offensive system there under their new OC. People need to move on haha.
