2025 in-state breakdown: Armondo Blount, DJ Pickett headline top Florida prospects

Year in and year out Florida has some of the top high school football players in the country and the same can be said for the Class of 2025. On3 released its 2025 On300 on Monday and the state had 42 players make the list.

Of the 42 players from Florida that made it, 32 were ranked as four-star prospects.

Here’s a look at those 32 and an early glance at where their recruitment stands.

DL Armondo Blount

School: Miami Central
On3 Ranking: No. 7
On3 RPM: Florida 34.5%, Miami 22.8%

The Skinny:
Armondo Blount‘s been recruited heavily by the top schools in the Sunshine State. He’s only visited Florida, Florida State and Miami up to this point in his recruitment but AlabamaNotre Dame and Ohio State are a few other schools he’s said that he’d like to visit soon.

The Skinny:
DJ Pickett started picking up offers before he played a down of high school football and has visited over 10 schools already. An out-of-state school to keep an eye on in Pickett’s recruitment is Michigan as he’s visited Ann Arbor multiple times, likes the coaches, has family an hour away from campus and his mother went there.

QB Carter Smith

School: Bishop Verot

The Skinny:
Carter Smith doubles as one of the top 2025 baseball recruits in Florida. When it comes to football, he noted that Florida State, LSU and Ole Miss are the ‘big three’ in his recruitment right now and have been in contact with him the most. His upcoming visits include Florida State’s and Florida’s spring games.

Jaime Ffrench told On3’s Chad Simmons in February that AlabamaGeorgia, Ohio State and Pittsburgh were the four schools leading the way in his recruitment. Since then he’s taken visits to Alabama, LSU, Notre Dame and Penn State and will take a visit to Clemson on April 1.

RB Donovan Johnson

Solomon Thomas is closing in on 20 offers and has several of the nation’s top programs entering his recruitment. He was also recently named the OL MVP at the Under Armour Next+ All-America Camp in Orlando. Some schools standing out to him now include Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Nebraska, Rutgers and Tennessee

Jalen Wiggins visited Florida on March 11 and left that visit with an offer from the Gators. He told Gator Online’s Corey Bender that, “This offer is very big for me, as it’s one of my top schools in general.” The visit to campus was his first since he attended Florida’s blow out win over Eastern Washington.

Donovan Olugbode is one of the fastest rising sophomores in the country and is planning future visits to Georgia and Tennessee. On3’s Sam Spiegelman reported that he’s also building strong foundations with Florida and Notre Dame as well.

Swint announced his top 8 of Florida, Florida State, Miami, Michigan, Rutgers, Tennessee, Texas and UCF on March. He previously told Chad Simmons that, “All four in-state schools are high on my list. Location will be a factor for me. I want to stay home and go to college somewhere in my home state. I see myself at Florida, Florida State, Miami or UCF when I make my decision.”

WR Hardley Gilmore
