Between the Bets: Three wagers for Georgia-Georgia Tech

by: Jason Butt8 hours agoJasonHButt

With Georgia and Georgia Tech one day away from kicking off, here are three wagers for the game.

Georgia running back Nate Frazier O65.5 rushing yards -125

Frazier carried the ball 12 times against Charlotte but was limited to 54 yards. That’s OK. The Bulldogs were without some offensive linemen and just trying to avoid further injuries. Drew Bobo and Earnest Greene III will be back and the Yellow Jackets are awful against the run. This should set up to be a great game for both Frazier and Chauncey Bowens.

Georgia receiver Zachariah Branch O61.5 receiving yards -125

Branch’s skill set will be tough for a Georgia Tech secondary that ranks 105th nationally in allowing 241.6 yards through the air per game. Branch is due for a big game and he should get one against a leaky Yellow Jackets’ defense.

Georgia Tech receiver Malik Rutherford O38.5 receiving yards -125

If Georgia’s defense is able to slow quarterback Haynes King down in the run game, and if the offense gets ahead early, the Yellow Jackets will be trailing and needing to pass. Rutherford has covered this line in three of his last four games and would be a frequent target in a play-from-behind game script.

Last week

Yikes. Big yikes.

Georgia went up 28-0 early and took the gas off the pedal. Not only that, but the run game kept things slow and didn’t produce close to 294 rushing yards. That made for a disappointing 0-2 day, which has only added to a disappointing home stretch this season.

That’s OK, there’s always a chance to sweep this week, and then sweep the game after.
