Coaches Poll Top 25: College Football Rankings released after wild Week 8

The latest Coaches Poll Top 25 rankings were released following a wild Week 8 of college football. There were upsets, close calls and blowouts!
So as we usually say, it was a typical week of college football. One thing’s for sure, the rankings were shaken up so have fun debating these.
So without further ado, let’s dive into the latest Coaches Poll rankings. We’ll start at the top.
1. Ohio State
Ohio State goes through another Coaches Poll ranking as the undefeated national champion. The Buckeyes beat Wisconsin 34-0 and they seemingly took their foot off the gas in the second half.
There are Heisman-type players all over this roster. Julian Sayin, Jeremiah Smith, Caleb Downs, heck throw Arvell Reese in there too. This team looks like a steady repeat contender.
2. Indiana (+1)

Indiana started slow but picked it up in quarters two and three. The Hoosiers are still unbeaten at 7-0 after a 38-13 win over Michigan State.
We will say it every week. Curt Cignetti just wins, Google him! Indiana is nearly atop the Coaches Poll now.
3. Texas A&M (+1)
Texas A&M beat Arkansas 45-42 so it wasn’t the prettiest win in terms of defense, but it was another win for the Aggies. As long as they keep winning, they’ll stay high up the Coaches Poll.
Mike Elko and crew have something special brewing and it could be more evident week to week. They are firmly in contention for the SEC.
4. Alabama (+2)
Alabama won the Third Saturday in October and got to celebrate with cigars following the win over Tennessee. That’s six wins in a row and the Coaches Poll likes it!
Kalen DeBoer has this team rolling right now, especially with QB Ty Simpson lighting it up. In fact, maybe we’ll just forget about that first week!
5. Georgia (+2)

Georgia and Kirby Smart just keep winning in these big spots. They’re not the most dominant team under his watch, but the Bulldogs will beat you down.
This time, they won a shootout over Ole Miss with a late rally. The defense locked in during the fourth quarter and helped the team stay high in the Coaches Poll.
6. Oregon (+3)
Oregon blasted Rutgers in a get right game for the Ducks. They’re not the top team in the Coaches Poll, but they sure looked like it in New Jersey.
Oregon had 750 yards. That’s right, 750! That’s more than Wisconsin had (605) this entire month!
7. Georgia Tech (+5)
Georgia Tech, not Georgia folks, is in the top 10 of the Coaches Poll. Remember when we thought Miami would roll to an ACC crown at this point?

Well, Georgia Tech is 7-0 after beating Duke and maybe Brent Key and the Yellow Jackets are here to steal the show. The stretch run is going to be fascinating.
8. Ole Miss (-3)

Ole Miss stayed in the top 10 of the Coaches Poll despite a loss to Georgia. It was only the first loss of the year for the Rebels.
The race for the SEC or the College Football playoff is by no means over. But man, that was another game Lane Kiffin saw slip through his fingers.
9. Miami (-7)
Miami stayed in the Coaches Poll top 10 despite their first loss of the season. Friday night turned into a nightmare for the Hurricanes, two weeks before Halloween!
Carson Beck threw four interceptions in his worst game of the year. They’ll need a quick bounceback to erase this one.
10. BYU (+4)
BYU beat Utah in the latest edition of the Holy War and earned its way into the Coaches Poll top 10. This game was tight throughout, but the Cougars improved to 7-0 with the 24-21 win.
Bear Bachmeier was 13-of-22 passing for 166 yards and a touchdown, as well as 64 rushing yards and a score. LJ Martin had 122 yards rushing Saturday night.
