We are one month into the college football season coming out of the final weekend of September. That means candidates are a third of the way through with their campaigns for the Heisman Trophy.

BetMGM posted their updated odds for the Heisman coming out of Week 5’s results on Friday and Saturday. There were several shifts throughout the lines, including a new odds-on favorite along with three new quarterbacks, all from the Southeastern Conference, earning spots in the Top-10.

Here are the updated top-ten in odds to win the Heisman Trophy per those at BetMGM:

Oregon QB Dante Moore (+750 – was +1200)

Your new favorite in the odds to win the award this season is Dante Moore. That’s based on his play to this point already, and was highlighted with a Heisman-type moment for him on Saturday night as he was 29-39 (74.4%) for 248 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Ducks to a top-six road win over Penn State in the Whiteout.

With that, Moore is completing 74.6% of his passes for 242 yards per game with 14 touchdowns and just one interception. That kind of production should make him the next Oregon quarterback, especially if they keep winning like they have been, to make it to New York, with him having been within the top-four in odds in every update since Week 2.

Miami QB Carson Beck (+900 – was +1200)

Carson Beck took a slight dip with his odds going into the bye week in Coral Gables, with him having previously been in the top-three since the post-week one update and was even the odds-on favorite after week three at (+700). He’s now back up at number two here behind only Moore.

Beck has bounced back this season at The ‘U as he is completing 73.2% of his passes for 243 yards per game with seven touchdowns and three interceptions. Now, after his worst performance to this point in their last game for the bye, he’ll have another big stage to try to push himself back into the top spot as Miami goes on the road in their conference opener for a top-twenty matchup in Tallahassee.

Ohio State WR Jeremiah Smith (+1000 – was +1600)

Jeremiah Smith has been hanging around the top-ten with odds anywhere from (+1300) to (+2000) from the preseason through Week 4. After Week 5, though, his odds are the highest they’ve been with him in a tie for third at (+1000)

In the Buckeyes’ win at Washington on Saturday, Smith caught eight passes for 81 yards and a touchdown, bringing him to 28 receptions for 396 yards, at an average of 99.0 per game and 14.1 per catch, and four touchdowns. That’s the best receiver in the sport doing best receiver in the sport-type things, with him being the consistent top target for Ohio State.

Alabama QB Ty Simpson (+1000 – was +2000)

Simpson has steadily been improving his odds over the start of his first season as Alabama’s QB1. That has, with his play in the Crimson Tide’s win this weekend, resulted in his leap all the way into a tie for third in odds after cutting his previous number in half at (+1000).

Simpson went 24-38 (63.2%) for 276 yards and two touchdowns, while rushing for another score, in a three-point road win for ‘Bama at Georgia on Saturday. That brings him to 69.3% completion for 284.5 yards per game with 14 touchdowns and no interceptions on the season, as well as 76.2% for 294.7 yards and nine passing scores the past three weeks, to put him near the top of the Heisman conversation.

Indiana QB Fernando Mendoza (+1300 – was +650)

With how things have gone for some of the quarterbacks so far this season, Fernando Mendoza had shifted from unlisted to (+2500) after Week 3 all the way up to being a massive odds-on favorite at (+650) after Week 4, which came in part after the injury news regarding OU’s John Mateer. But, after a lesser performance this past weekend, his odds have corrected again down to a tie for fourth at (+1300).

Mendoza wasn’t as prolific in Indiana’s win at Iowa on Saturday, as he went 13-23 (56.5%) for 233 yards, a touchdown, and the first pick of his season. That said, with him still posting 73% completion for 241.6 yards per game with 16 touchdowns and the one pick for an undefeated, top-ten team, he has played like one of the better quarterbacks in the country up in Bloomington in earning Heisman consideration.

Tennessee QB Joey Aguilar (+1300 – was +1500)

Joey Aguilar is another quarterback who has seen his odds shift a good bit, being unlisted until reaching (+1500) after Week 3 when Tennessee lost in overtime to Georgia. His odds have now improved again after the Volunteers’ first conference win on the road this weekend in Starkville.

In the 41-34 OT win over Mississippi State, Aguilar was 24-40 (60%) for 335 yards, a touchdown, and two interceptions, while also rushing for a score. His two touchdowns were big ones, though, as they helped the Vols to tie or take the lead in the overtime victory over the Bulldogs, which kept him in the top-five in Heisman odds.

Texas A&M QB Marcel Reed (+1500)

Marcel Reed leaped into the top-ten at (+1500) after the Aggies’ win at Notre Dame in Week 3. Those odds have since held firmly for him at the same number, especially after a bye and what was his worst outing of the season so far in their conference opener in College Station on Saturday.

Reed, in the 16-10 win over Auburn, went 15-22 (68.2%) for 207 yards and an interception, while taking four sacks too to post negative rushing yardage. Still, with A&M still undefeated and his season-long statistics sitting at 60.3% completion for 269 passing yards per game with nine touchdowns and two picks, at 298.8 total yards per game with ten scores overall, Reed remains just outside the top-five with a three-way tie in sixth.

Vanderbilt QB Diego Pavia (+1500 – was unlisted)

Diego Pavia has become one of the more-known quarterbacks in the country with what he has done over his time at Vanderbilt. Now, BetMGM has caught on with him in their Heisman odds with Pavia debuting in the top-ten here in a tie for sixth at (+1500).

Pavia, in the midst of a 5-0 start for the Commodores, is having a career-best season in posting 74.6% completion for 242.2 yards per game with 13 touchdowns and three interceptions, while running for 58.8 per game and two more scores to bring him to 301 total yards per game and 15 touchdowns. That’s what he has done so far for Vandy, who is ranked as high as they’ve been and is in the middle of their best start in 17 years – with this weekend now being the one the sport has been waiting for with Pavia playing his rematch against Alabama in Tuscaloosa.

Ole Miss QB Trinidad Chambliss (+1500 – was unlisted)

Trinidad Chambliss isn’t even technically the starter for Ole Miss. However, his play for the Rebels in the absence of Austin Simmons now has him listed high in the Heisman odds at (+1500).

Starting the past three games with wins over Arkansas, Tulane, and LSU on Saturday, Chambliss has completed 64.2% of his throws for 324.7 passing yards with four touchdowns and an interception, while running to get to 406.4 total yards per game and six scores. That not only now has him in Heisman consideration but at least has opened the conversation to whether or not he could be the Rebels’ QB1 moving forward coming out of their bye.

Ohio State QB Julian Sayin (+1700)

Julian Sayin is steadily growing as Ohio State’s starting quarterback. That development, for the top-ranked team in the country, has him still sitting at (+1700) at BetMGM in their odds for the Heisman Trophy.

Saying is posting 78.8% completion for 246.8 yards per game with 10 touchdowns and three interceptions, which comes after he was 22-28 (78.6%) for 208 yards and two touchdowns in the Buckeyes’ win over the Huskies in Seattle on Saturday. That has him in position to potentially be in attendance at the ceremony, as one of two on the team in consideration, come December, especially if he continues on in his development in Columbus.

Texas QB Arch Manning (+2000 – was +2500)
Georgia QB Gunner Stockton (+2000 – was +1400)
Arizona State QB Sam Leavitt (+2000)
USC QB Jayden Maiava (+2000)
Penn State QB Drew Allar (+2500 – was +3000)
Notre Dame RB Jeremiyah Love (+2500)
Florida State QB Thomas Castellanos (+2500 – was +2000)
Georgia Tech QB Haynes King (+2500)
Notre Dame QB CJ Carr (+2500)
Oklahoma QB John Mateer (+3000 – was +2,200)
Washington QB Demond Williams Jr. (+3000)
TCU QB Josh Hoover (+3000 – was +1,500)
LSU QB Garrett Nussmeier (+3000 – was +1500)
