On3’s College Football Top-100 featured some of the sport’s biggest names. That included some top-notch pass-catching talents as the ten best wide receivers on the list are a handful of big-time names that come from major programs.

Ohio State’s Marvin Harrison Jr. was the highest-rated amongst the position group. He finished as the No. 3 player overall in the ranking. Fellow Buckeye WR Emeka Egbuka followed close behind him in the Top-25, though, at No. 22, which suggests that the receiving pipeline in Columbus is still wide open heading into the fall.

Harrison Jr. has staked his claim as college football’s best receiver heading into 2023. He caught 77 passes a season ago for 1,263 yards and 14 touchdowns. Before it’s all said and done, Harrison Jr. might end up making a case as the top prospect in next year’s NFL Draft as well.

Pair Harrison Jr. and Egbuka together and they cleaned up with their statistics for the Buckeyes. Both either finished first or second in catches, reception yards, and receiving touchdowns for Ohio State in 2022.

Texas’ Xavier Worthy, Washington’s Rome Odunze, and Florida State’s Johnny Wilson round out the top-five alongside Harrison Jr. and Egbuka. Each surpassed marks of 40 catches, 750 receiving yards, and five reception touchdowns a season ago. Now, all three will look to help lead their offenses to big things in the Big 12, Pac-12, and ACC respectively.

The SEC is then featured in three of the next five spots for wide receivers. LSU’s Malik Nabers, South Carolina’s Antwane Wells Jr., and Alabama’s Malik Benson all cracked the Top-100. Nabers and Wells Jr. have both been around the block before with the Tigers and Gamecocks. After showing out in JUCO, though, Benson now has some big shoes to fill for the Crimson Tide.

Arizona’s Jacob Cowing (85 catches, 1,034 yards, and seven touchdowns in 2022) and Colorado State’s Tory Horton (71 catches, 1,131 yards, and eight touchdowns in 2022) also finished in the Top-10.

Again, there are all kinds of talents nationally when it comes to these wide receivers. The question now is, from these rankings, who will put up the best numbers in 2023? And, in turn, who will best help their team to compete next season because of it?
