Oregon State's top 2025 signee Mason Pike set to join Beavers

BeaversEdge’s Ryan Harlan has confirmed that Oregon State baseball 2025 signee Mason Pike, the No. 44 player in the 2025 recruiting class, will be making his way to Corvallis. The Puyallup, Washington native was drafted in the 19th round of the MLB Draft earlier this month by the Washington Nationals.
He was ranked by Perfect Game as the No. 44 player overall and the No. 19 shortstop. He was also ranked the No. 2 overall player in Washington behind fellow Oregon State commitment Xavier Neyens. Neyens was ranked as the No. 5 player nationally by Perfect Game. He was drafted in the first round by the Houston Astros and has signed with the organization.
For the Beavers, Pike should be a two-way player and has a chance to be a legitimate star both at the plate and on the mound.
Here’s what we had to say about Pike as we looked at Oregon State Baseball’s 2025 recruiting class post-draft last week.
“Pike was the No. 44 player nationally according to Perfect Game and the No. 2 player out of Washington. However, due to his college commitment, Pike wouldn’t be drafted until the 19th round by the Washington Nationals. Currently, all expectations are that the Puyallup, Washington native will not sign with the Nationals and instead will be headed to Oregon State.
A switch hitter, Pike projects to be a difference maker both in the field and at the plate. As a senior, Pike hit .482/.583/.699 (1.282 OPS) in 29 games for Puyallup. His power is still developing. He had no home runs as a senior according to MaxPreps and only had four in his high school career, with two as a freshman and two as a sophomore. He does do a good job of driving the ball, however, with exit velocities topping out at around 100 mph. Good but not a stellar athlete.
Pike is also strong on the mound, where he already has a quality arsenal. As a senior, he had a 0.84 ERA in 12 games and 66.2 IP. He struck out 112 while walking 21.”
