Oregon State Baseball: Keljo, Oakes, & Weber Drafted

The second day of the 2025 MLB Draft on Monday saw more Oregon State Baseball players selected as the Beavers continue to represent in the draft. Aiva Arquette led things off at No. 7 overall, along with HS pledge Xavier Neyens at No. 21. Gavin Turley was selected in the fourth round to kick off the second day, before we saw three more Beavers called.

In the 6th round of the MLB Draft, Oregon State pitcher Nelson Keljo was selected by the Cleveland Guardians with the 192nd overall pick. He’s coming off a junior year where he pitched in 17 games, making 11 starts. Keljo finished with a 3-2 record and 4.01 ERA and struck out 63 in 58 1/3 innings, and held opponents to a .213 batting average.

The next Oregon State player taken was also a pitcher, three rounds later in the ninth round. Kellan Oakes was selected by Houston with the 276th overall pick. Oakes pitched in 20 games, making four starts. He finished with a 5-1 record, a 3.68 ERA, and struck out 47 in 36 2/3 innings. Oakes also recorded one save and held opponents to a .232 batting average.

Following Oakes’ selection, Oregon State saw their second player selected by the Miami Marlins, as Wilson Weber joins Aiva Arquette. Weber was taken in the 11th round, with the 348th overall pick. Weber is coming off a senior season with OSU, where he played in 63 games (60 starts).

The Gresham native hit .326 with 15 doubles, two triples, 12 home runs, and 58 RBI. He also showed patience at the plate with 27 walks, and he finished with 20 multiple-hit games and 13 multi-RBI efforts.
