A few more Alabama targets are scheduled to announce decisions this week! Miles McVay, four-star offensive lineman from East St. Louis High School in Illinois, will announce his college choice on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. (CST). Alabama currently leads the On3 Sports RPM (Recruit Prediction Machine). Kelby Collins, four-star defensive end from Gardendale High School in Alabama, will reveal his college destination on Saturday. His recruitment is a lot tighter than most expected with Florida and Georgia making a big push to steal him away from the Crimson Tide. Current predictions for both have been updated in the Recruiting Thoughts!

Alabama received its first defensive line commitment last week when Hunter Osborne, four-star from Hewitt-Trussville High School in Alabama, announced his decision. Alabama hopes it can add several additional lineman to its class with a few currently leaning in the Tide’s direction. Collins (mentioned above) will announce this week. Jordan Renaud, four-star defensive end from Legacy High School in Tyler, Texas and Edric Hill, four-star defensive end from North High School in Kansas City, expect to announce at some point before October. The decision from McVay on Thursday will send a ripple effect to the remaining offensive line targets in the 2023 class. A commitment from McVay would give the Crimson Tide four offensive linemen in the class to go along with Wilkin Formby, Olaus Alinen and Ryqueze McElderry. A lot depends on McVay’s decision, but with the potential for only one more guaranteed spot a the position it may cause some to make a move. It’s a remarkable year for in-state talent in 2023 with several of the nation’s top recruits resides in Alabama. The Crimson Tide has two in-state commitments in the 2024 class. It won’t be as deep next year, but several talented players who will get closely evaluated by Alabama this fall. We take a closer look at some of the best in-state targets.

Alabama has flipped two recruits in this recruiting cycle (so far): Ty Lockwood (Ohio State), Ryqueze McElderry (UGA). A few other commitments were once committed elsewhere- Tony Mitchell (Tennessee) and Eli Holstein (Texas A&M). The Crimson Tide continues its pursuit of several targets including Keon Keeley (Notre Dame commitment), Suntarine Perkins (Ole Miss commitment) and Peter Woods (Clemson commitment).
