On the Fourth of July, the Alabama Crimson Tide created some more fireworks on the recruiting trail.

Just moments ago, Ryqueze McElderry announced his commitment to Nick Saban’s program. McElderry, a product of Anniston (Al.) High School, is now the second 2023 offensive lineman to commit to Alabama, the other being Wilkin Formby.

The former Georgia commit was also considering the Auburn Tigers and Tennessee Volunteers. In the end, McElderry rewarded the Crimson Tide with a commitment just two days after departing from UGA’s class.

Per On3’s Class of 2023 rankings, McElderry is a four-star prospect. He’s also tabbed by On3 as the No. 28 interior offensive lineman in this cycle and a top-20 rising senior in Alabama.

Also worth noting is that McElderry hails from Anniston High School, one that the Crimson Tide are familiar with. Anniston is home to 2022 Alabama signee Antonio Kite as well as four-star rising junior Jayden Lewis.
