Another Friday, another slate of high school games featuring future members of Alabama’s football program.

This will be an exciting week of high school football as all but a few commitments are beginning postseason play. Quarterback commit Julian Sayin already kicked things off with a playoff game on Thursday, putting up impressive numbers in Carlsbad’s shutout victory.

BamaInsider previews games that Alabama’s pledges will be playing in tonight and tomorrow, as well as a quick recap of what transpired on Thursday.

Where Alabama commitments will be playing this week

2023 Commitments  

Bray Hubbard — In their first playoff game, the 10-0 Ocean Springs Greyhounds will host Northwest Rankin (4-6) tonight at 7:00 p.m. Central.

Caleb Downs — Mill Creek (9-1) also starts their playoff run with a home game against Meadowcreek (6-3) on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. Central.

Conor Talty — St. Rita (9-2) is in the third round of the playoffs, and will have a neutral site playoff game against St. Charles North (10-1) on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Central.

QB Dylan Lonergan — Brookwood begins their postseason with a home game against Harrison (3-7) on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. Central.

QB Eli Holstein — Zachary’s first round playoff game is a home contest against St. Amant (4-6) tonight at 7:00 p.m. Central.

DL Hunter Osborne — In their second round playoff matchup, Hewitt-Trussville has a neutral site game against Hoover (10-1) tonight at 7:00 p.m. Central.

WR Jalen Hale — Longview starts their playoff run with a home game against Crosby (6-4) tonight at 7:00 p.m. Central.

RB Justice Haynes — The undefeated Buford Wolves (10-0) begin their postseason with a home contest against Peachtree Ridge (6-4) on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. Central.

WR Malik Benson — Hutchinson Community College travels to Iowa Western C.C. for their final regular season game on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Central.

OL Miles McVay — East Saint Louis (10-2) has a quarterfinal matchup with Crete-Monee (9-2) on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. Central.

OL Olaus Alinen — The Loomis Chaffee School will host Kent High School on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. Central.

RB Richard Young — Lehigh (4-3) starts their playoffs with a road game at Palmetto (6-3) tonight at 6:30 p.m. Central.

OL Ryqueze McElderry — In their second round playoff game, Anniston (10-0) hosts Booker T. Washington (6-5) tonight at 7:00 p.m. Central.

Tony Mitchell — Thompson’s (8-3) second round playoff matchup is a neutral site game against Vestavia Hills (7-4) tonight at 7:00 p.m. Central.

2022 season is over: DL Edric Hill, DB Jahlil Hurley, DL Jordan Renaud, LB Justin Jefferson, OL Raymond Pulido, EDGE Yhonzae Pierre, and OL Wilkin Formby

Out for the season due to injury: WR Cole Adams and TE Ty Lockwood

2024 Commitments

QB Julian Sayin — According to Bodie de Silva of Scorebook Live, Sayin had 284 passing yards and three total touchdowns (two passing, one rushing) in Carlsbad’s 37-0 first round playoff win over Poway.

TE Martavious Collins — Rome (9-1) has a first round home playoff game against Paulding County (6-4) tonight at 6:30 p.m. Central.

2022 season is over: DB Jaylen Mbakwe and WR Perry Thompson

2025 Commitments:

WR Ryan Williams — In their third playoff game, Saraland (10-1) has a neutral site playoff game against Hillcrest (11-0) tonight at 7:00 p.m. Central.
