Auburn has made it into a few top school graphics this week. They have made the cut again. This time it is 4-star DL Joel Starlings. Auburn’s new DL coach Jimmy Brumbaugh has been hot and heavy on the recruiting trail. For the most part, we have tracked down who he has reached out to, but Starlings is somewhat of a new name to track.

The Tigers made the cut along with in-state South Carolina, Wisconsin, West Virginia, Virginia Tech, Florida State, Virginia, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Penn State, Georgia, and Texas A&M. This is not your normal top school list for a 4-star. He’s got an interesting variety.

The Starlings File

Starlings is a 6-foot-5 310-pound DL prospect from Richmond, Virginia (Benedictine). At one time, Starlings was committed to Michigan. He has since backed off of that commitment and opened things back up.

Starlings is currently ranked as the No. 297 overall recruit and the No. 40 ranked DL in the country in On3’s rankings. He is the No. 225 overall recruit and the No. 35 ranked DL in the country in On3’s Consensus rankings. The On3 Consensus equally weights the four major media recruiting companies at 25%.

Auburn offered the big DL prospect back in early February. He was one of the first calls after Brumbaugh took the job at Auburn. Just a little over a month after the offer went out from brand new DL coach Brumbaugh, Auburn makes the first cut.

NIL Valuation

The NIL Valuation is comprised of a number of dynamic data points that focus on two primary factors – an athlete’s social media presence and their level of athletic performance. Starlings doesn’t have a high social media presence, but his name is already making some noise. His current NIL Valuation with On3 is hovering around $12K.
