Breaking Down the Auburn Tigers Highest Priorities on Both Sides of the Ball in 2025

Auburn’s 2025 recruiting class is off to a fast start. The Tigers enter March with nine commitments, a group currently ranked No. 8 in the country and No. 3 in the SEC.

And more additions could be on the way.

Who are the top targets at each position, the main guys Auburn fans should follow in the coming weeks and months? This series will answer those questions.

Today, we look at the top targets at the wide receivers.

Top 5 Targets: Wide Receivers

The wide receiver position always will be a priority for a Huge Freeze offense.

Even after signing four high school wide receivers in 2024, arguably the best four Auburn ever has signed in a class, the Tigers will look to add at least three more in 2025.

Here are five wide receivers Auburn fans should keep a close eye on in ’25.

Caleb Cunningham, Ackerman, Miss. (Choctaw County)

Cunningham is ranked a five-star recruit and the No. 2 wide receiver in the country. It’s no surprise he’s likely at the top of the Tigers’ wish list.

He’s visited Auburn at least three times already with the most recent being in January. And he’s already planning to return at the end of March.

Derick Smith, Selma, Ala. (Southside)

Smith is the top-ranked athlete in the state this year and a top-50 overall recruit in the country. He could project at many positions in college, but Auburn likes him at wide receiver.

He’s visited the Tigers at least four times in the past year and is expected back in the spring.

Travis Smith, Atlanta, Ga. (Westlake)

Travis Smith is the top-ranked wide receiver in Georgia and a top-10 wideout in the country.

Smith has visited Auburn at least two times, including a visit in January. He’s planning to be back on campus on March 23.

CJ Wiley, Alpharetta, Ga. (Milton)

On3 ranks Wiley a top-10 wide receiver in the country and No. 2 in Georgia (behind only Travis Smith). He’s a big target at 6-foot-4 and 190 pounds.

Auburn offered Wiley in December and is expected to get him on campus in the spring. It would be his first known visit to Auburn.

Dallas Wilson, Tampa, Fla. (Tampa Tech)

Wilson is ranked the No. 1 wide receiver in Florida and No. 4 in the country. He has been committed to Oregon since January 2023, but continues to look at and visit other schools. He has yet to visit Auburn, but the Tigers are working to change that this spring.

With Wilson, this list includes the top-ranked wide receivers in Mississippi, Alabama, Florida and the top two from Georgia.
