5-star QB Julian Lewis loves potential of Auburn wide receiver class

From Auburn Live’s Cole Pinkston…

Julian “Juju” Lewis, a 5-star quarterback from Carrollton (Ga.), recently reclassified to the class of 2025. Shortly after, he took a visit to Auburn. Lewis spent the entire day at Auburn on Saturday, then took in the basketball atmosphere against Ole Miss. That visit went well.

“It was a good experience, coming in and watching the basketball game,” Lewis said. “It was a good environment, just getting to see what the fans are like outside of football.”

Lewis is the No. 10 overall player in the country, the No. 2 quarterback, and the No. 4 player in the state of Georgia for 2025 according to the On3 Industry Ranking.

Receiver class a big deal for Lewis

Lewis enjoyed getting to know quarterback coaches Kent Austin and Jesse Stone along with Tigers’ coach Hugh Freeze.

“That was kind of my first real time getting to sit down and talk to them, it was good to get to know them,” Lewis said.

The 2024 wide receiver class consisting of Cam ColemanPerry ThompsonBryce Cain, and Malcolm Simmons was an eye-opener for Lewis.

“Yeah, that was serious,” Lewis said. “You have to have guys to throw the ball to. Kids like Cam Coleman and people like that you can get the rock to. That is our job at the end of the day, so that is definitely something to look at.”

Lewis says he will return and keep in touch with coaches.

“Yes, I will definitely be back,” Lewis said. “Our football team will come down here for 7-on-7 and I will stay in contact with the coaches.”

According to Lewis, Auburn is not new in his recruitment, he just had to get a feel for everything it had to offer outside of football.

“They were already there, it was just cool to see the environment outside of football,” Lewis said. “That was my biggest thing, just to see the town, Auburn and stuff. The environment.”
