Class of 2026 wide receiver Denairius Gray has committed to Auburn football.

Gray, who attends Chaminade-Madonna in Boynton Beach, Fla., announced his decision Monday on social media. He chose Auburn over early offers from Georgia, Miami, Florida State, Florida, LSU, Texas A&M, Michigan and Ohio State, among many others.

Gray has taken at least two visits to Auburn. He attended the Western Kentucky game during the 2022 season and returned last June for the Tigers’ Big Cat recruiting event.

“I really like it (at Auburn),” he said after Big Cat. “On the visit, I toured the campus and got a good feel for the town. I had a great experience. It was a great time. The first time I came I really liked the atmosphere. It was a really good atmosphere.”

Marcus Davis big factor in Gray’s decision

Gray has developed a strong bond with Auburn wide receivers coach Marcus Davis. The two have several things in common, including their hometown.

“I have a good relationship with (Davis),” Gray said. “He’s from where I’m from, from Boynton. He could teach me a lot because he came from where I’m from. I could learn a lot from him.”

Gray, who is listed at 6-foot-1 and 170 pounds, burst onto the recruiting season as a freshman in 2022. That year, he had 56 receptions for 752 yards and 14 touchdowns. Again, he did it as a freshman.

As a sophomore in 2023, he had a receiving touchdown in 10 of 11 games. He finished the season with 25 receptions for 372 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Gray is the second commitment for Auburn in the 2026 class. He joins offensive lineman Kail Ellis, who attends Cass High School in Canton, Ga. Ellis committed to Auburn in November.

Big OL talks Auburn commitment

Ellis committed to Auburn football on Nov. 30.

“Auburn I’m home,” he wrote on X. “1000% committed.”

In addition to Auburn, he also has offers from Georgia, Miami, Penn State, Georgia Tech, UCF, Vanderbilt, South Florida, NC State and Liberty, among others.

“I chose Auburn because of the opportunity to get developed as a student, athlete and also a man,” Ellis told Auburn Live.

Ellis also believes Hugh Freeze and staff have Auburn’s program on an upward trajectory.

“I feel that Coach Freeze, Coach (Jake) Thornton and the rest of that staff are doing amazing things,” he said. “And I love that I am a part of it.”

Ellis is no stranger to Auburn. He attended three games inside Jordan-Hare Stadium this season.

“Jordan Hare and that fan base is absolutely crazy,” he said. “Goosebumps every time I have been.”
