Junior college offensive tackle Seth Wilfred has committed to Auburn football.

Wilfred, who has three years of eligibility, announced his decision Monday on social media.

“I mean, the atmosphere, you can’t really match it with anything else,” he said. “It is a really great place and I love it.”

Wilfred’s decision comes less than 24 hours after leaving an official visit to Auburn.

“I mean coming to Auburn, it’s an amazing place,” Wilfred said. “The community here, the atmosphere, the people that live here, it is a really great place. We toured the facilities, met some of the players here.”

Coaches played major roles in Wilfred’s decision

Wilfred took in plenty of information over the weekend while meeting coaches.

“I got to meet with the head coach, Coach Freeze, the offensive line coach, Coach Thornton,” Wilfred said. “Nothing but good information here, it is a really great place.”

Wilfred mentioned a program Auburn has in place for players after the NFL. That stood out to him.

“I enjoyed them walking me through position-wise where I would stand if I came to Auburn,” Wilfred said. “I think it is an amazing place for people to come here. Not even just for football, even past football, what they have created. After being in the NFL they have a really great program for you to track the career path that you want to proceed in. I think that is a really great program they have here at Auburn.”

Wilfred is impressed, so far, with Auburn offensive line coach Jake Thornton.

“He’s a great offensive line coach,” Wilfred said. “I think him and his connection with the head coach is very close. I like how they way that he is very discipline with his players and is very honest. The way he runs things around here is really amazing.”

He felt as though Freeze was honest with him about everything and has a great relationship with his players.

“Really great head coach, I like that he is very honest,” Wilfred said. “I enjoyed what he walked through with me about how he always treats his players and how he always is great with compassion with what position you will be in at Auburn.”
