Class of 2026 offensive lineman Kail Ellis has committed to Auburn football.

Ellis, who attends Cass High School in Canton, Ga., announced his decision Thursday on social media.

“Auburn I’m home,” he wrote on X. “1000% committed.”

In addition to Auburn, he also has offers from Georgia, Miami, Penn State, Georgia Tech, UCF, Vanderbilt, South Florida, NC State and Liberty, among others.

“I chose Auburn because of the opportunity to get developed as a student, athlete and also a man,” Ellis told Auburn Live.

Ellis also believes Hugh Freeze and staff have Auburn’s program on an upward trajectory.

“I feel that Coach Freeze, Coach (Jake) Thornton and the rest of that staff are doing amazing things,” he said. “And I love that I am a part of it.”

Ellis is no stranger to Auburn. He attended three games inside Jordan-Hare Stadium this season.

“Jordan Hare and that fan base is absolutely crazy,” he said. “Goosebumps every time I have been.”

Ellis is the first commitment in the Tigers’ 2026 recruiting class. He is listed at 6-foot-3 and 290 pounds.

Commitment Breakdown: What Auburn is getting in young OL Kail Ellis

verything needed to know about new Auburn commit Kail Ellis, a 2026 offensive lineman from Canton (Ga.) Cass.

The Ellis File

— Ellis, of course, is a young offensive lineman in the development stage. He currently holds a stocky, interior offensive line, build at 6-foot-2 290 pounds.

— There aren’t many interior players who can slide out to tackle at a moment’s notice and take care of business. Ellis has to do that a good bit, usually in passing situations for pass protection. This speaks highly of his feet and quickness.

Auburn fit/OL projection

— Ellis has been to a few Auburn games this season and was highly impressed with the Iron Bowl, we were told. Evidently, that was all it took for him to give his pledge.

— As an offensive lineman, Ellis projects at either center or guard. The good news? He plays center now, so snapping won’t ever be an issue.

— While he is an interior guy on the next level, his skillset lends toward being a pretty good pass blocker for now. Auburn has needed help with pass protection on the interior. He could be a strong piece in the future.

Football IQ

— Ellis plays both center and tackle as a young offensive lineman going against some older competition. That is enough to take notice. He understands leverage and how to re-work himself into position. There is a lot to like with his understanding of playing the offensive line this early on.
