Eagle’s Landing (McDonough, Ga.) offensive tackle Favour Edwin has signed a National Letter of Intent with Auburn football.

Edwin, who is ranked a top-40 offensive tackle in the 2024 class, was announced by Auburn as a signee on Wednesday.

He chose Auburn over Alabama, Clemson and Florida, among others.

“(Auburn is) everything in one,” he said. “It is amazing. What else could you ask for? The family atmosphere around the campus is just everything you want. I think that is amazing, for sure.”

Edwin has developed strong bonds with Auburn coach Hugh Freeze and offensive line coach Jake Thornton.

“They are amazing,” he said. “They showed me the blueprint of how they develop guys and put guys in the league. I think for me that is good. Coach Freeze, he has had Laremy Tunsil at left tackle, and others like that. Just seeing what they could do for me is huge, for sure.”

Game atmosphere impressed Edwin

Edwin visited Auburn this season for the Georgia and Ole Miss games, and likely will be back for the Iron Bowl. The Georgia game was his first visit to an Auburn game and left a good first impression.

“I mean, it was amazing,” he said. “It was a great visit and checked all the boxes for me. (Auburn is) a great place, great coaches, Coach Freeze, the O-line coach, just everybody. It was amazing.”

The atmosphere inside Jordan-Hare is something that stood out to him.

“The fans, the atmosphere,” he said. “They love the team. That is all you need. 90,000 every week, what else do you need? That is all you need. They have a good culture, good support staff.”

Edwin close with Colton Hood

Auburn freshman defensive back Colton Hood is Edwin’s former teammate at Eagle’s Landing. The two have been and continue to be close friends.

Edwin credits Hood for introducing him to football.

“That’s my boy,” Edwin said. “He got me playing football. When I saw him, he was like a big brother to me. He’s just one of those guys you just love to be around. He was a leader on the team and you can see he has a bright future (at Auburn), for sure.”

Hood being at Auburn will help Favour.

“It does a lot, when I come in December, when I’m going through anything, I’ll have someone I can fall back to because I have known him from high school and he will be there for me,” Edwin said. “He has been telling me how great of a place it is. Since I got the offer he has been wanting me to come over. Colton ain’t going to lie to me because we are really close. We are really close outside from the football aspect.”
