Scouting Report on Eugene Wilson III

Wilson was dynamic on both sides of the ball as a senior this fall. Wilson was extraordinary as a pass-catcher, with outstanding speed to make plays over the top and acceleration to break away from would-be tacklers in the open field.

He was even more of a game-breaker in the secondary as a ballhawk with excellent ball skills and instincts on the back end. Wilson flashed his dynamic playmaking ability on offense, defense and as a return specialist.

Silky smooth mover at receiver with elite change of direction skills. Looks line of the quicker and more fluid receivers in the cycle. Had an illuminating performance at the Under Armour Next Miami Camp in the spring prior to his senior season.

Has the skills to consistently separate against top corners. Possesses elite change of direction and short area quickness, which shows up in his route-running, which is among the best in the cycle. Also has verified top-end speed with an electronically-timed sub-4.5 40-yard dash.

A bit of a late-bloomer physically, having grown an inch in his junior year. Could also play defense. Can continue to improve his production at the high school level. Father Eugene Wilson starred at Illinois and won two Super Bowls as a safety for the New England Patriots.
