Another busy week of transfer news continues, as the Florida State football team earns an additional important commitment out of the transfer portal in 6-foot-7 tight end Kyle Morlock.

A Division-II transfer out of Shorter College in Georgia, Morlock made two trips to visit FSU in the past month, including an official visit to Tallahassee last weekend. He announced his commitment Thursday after considering Tennessee, Auburn and several other Power 5 schools.

With Morlock in the fold, Florida State continues to add to its tight end room with two of the top transfer options available, as Morlock joins highly touted South Carolina transfer Jaheim Bell, who also recently pledged to FSU.

During his 2022 season, Morlock was the leading receiver for Shorter, hauling in 30 catches for 446 yards and six touchdowns.

In a recent story by On3’s Mike Huguenin, the duo of Bell and Morlock rated as the nation’s No. 1 and No. 3 available tight ends within the transfer portal, respectively.

On Sunday after his FSU official visit, Morlock raved about head coach Mike Norvell, star quarterback Jordan Travis, and discussed his takeaways from the ‘Noles.

“I had a great time. Really enjoyed the coaches and the atmosphere. Overall, a great time,” Morlock said. “Just the people. The culture that’s been made here. All the people I met seemed really cool.”
