The victory over Duke wasn’t the only good news for the Florida State football team Saturday night.

The Seminoles also picked up their third commitment for the 2025 class with the addition of four-star linebacker Ethan Pritchard. The Sanford Seminole standout told the media of his commitment after FSU’s 38-20 victory.

After saying FSU was No. 1 on his list, Pritchard was asked when he might make a college decision.

“I already made it. Just did,” he said, adding that Mike Norvell and Florida State’s other coaches were overjoyed by the news. “They were ecstatic. Ecstatic, really. Just happy.”

According to the On3 recruiting rankings, Pritchard is the No. 22-ranked linebacker in the country and the 32nd-best player in Florida for the 2025 class. He is one of the top 250 players in the country.

Pritchard said he loved the way the Florida State defense played Saturday night, especially after being placed in some tough situations by the offense. The FSU defense pitched a shutout in the second half.

“When they faced adversity, how they all just came together,” he said. “Nobody was pointing fingers or nothing — they just came together and played. I love it”

The Seminoles have always been considered a leader for the four-star prospect. The last time he visited campus was during the Elite Camp in July, but he also attended the FSU-LSU game in early September.

One player who really stood out to Pritchard was senior linebacker Kalen DeLoach. He said he can see himself filling a similar role when he gets to Florida State.

“I feel like me and him play the same, really,” Pritchard said. “I like how he moves. How he covers and can fit the run at the same time.”
