The Florida State football team capped off its 2023 linebacker class — and perhaps its entire high school recruiting class for this cycle — on Monday with a commitment from Texas linebacker Dylan Brown-Turner.

The three-star prospect, who was committed to North Texas when he came on an official visit to Florida State this past weekend, announced his flip on Monday afternoon.

In this class, Brown-Turner joins four-star linebacker Blake Nichelson and three-star linebacker DeMarco Ward. Nichelson enrolls in the summer, and Ward is already on campus as an early enrollee.

“It was a great experience,” Brown-Turner told Warchant after his official visit this past weekend. “The moment I got there, the football staff, players, athletic director made me feel welcome and at home. …

“My family loved it. What’s crazy is growing up, my three favorite teams were LSU, Florida State and University of Texas. I always wanted to go to one of those schools. So when I got the FSU offer, it was almost like a dream come true. Like it wasn’t real. My parents were very excited on the offer, and even my uncle who was on the visit this weekend.”

While Florida State could be done with its high school prospects in this class — National Signing Day is Wednesday — the Seminoles are still expected to look for a couple more additions in the transfer portal. And linebacker could be one of those spots.
