The War Path: The Latest Recruiting Updates

The FSU football team has jumped out to an impressive 2-0 start, including a signature win over a top-10 Alabama squad. Will the results on the field create tangible positive developments in recruiting?
Join Warchant recruiting reporter Matt LaSerre and Osecola staff writer Nick Carlisle for another episode of The War Path, a Florida State recruiting show, to see where the Seminoles stand with top recruits.
This week’s topics include a discussion on which running back Florida State has a better chance at, Carsyn Baker or Derrek Cooper, talk about the one portal window, as well as a debate on pursuing portal prospects mid-season, and lastly, where FSU stands with recent UCLA and Virginia Tech decommits Johnnie Jones, Yahya Gaad, and Thomas Wilder.
Florida State will face Kent State on Saturday inside Doak Campbell Stadium. It will be the first meeting between the two programs. The Golden Flashes dropped to 1-2 on the season after a 31-28 loss at home to Buffalo last week.
The Seminoles are expected to host around 65 recruits for their match-up with the Golden Flashes; the whole list is available on the recruiting and portal board.
