ATHENS, Ga. — It is Saturday in the Classic City and Georgia is ready to begin its defensive of back-to-back National Championships. It takes on UT-Martin Saturday with kickoff set for 6 p.m. ET on SEC Network+. The Bulldogs have had to fight through injuries and the Georgia heat during camp, but here they are with a chance to continue what is currently a 17-game win streak. The pre-game flip card offered us a look at the first depth chart of the year and we provide it for you below.

Quarterback

  1. Carson Beck
  2. Brock Vandagriff or Gunner Stockton

Running Back

  1. Kendall Milton or Daijun Edwards
  2. Cash Jones
  3. Andrew Paul
  4. Roderick Robinson
  5. SeVaughn Clark
  6. Len’Neath Whitehead

Wide Receiver (X)

  1. Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint or Rara Thomas or Jackson Meeks
  2. De’Nylon Morrissette
  3. Tyler Williams

Wide Receiver (Slot)

  1. Dominic Lovett
  2. Dillon Bell
  3. Mekhi Mews
  4. Anthony Evans II
  5. Cole Speer

*** It’s a surprise that Bell is listed as a slot receiver considering he was expected to contribute at the outside receiver spots. It will be interesting to see if he actually gets reps in the slot or if he spends more time at X or Z.

Wide Receiver (Z)

  1. Ladd McConkey OR Arian Smith
  2. C.J. Smith
  3. Zeed Haynes

Tight End

  1. Brock Bowers
  2. Oscar Delp
  3. Lawson Luckie
  4. Pearce Spurlin

Left Tackle

  1. Earnest Greene
  2. Austin Blaske
  3. Monroe Freeling

Left Guard

  1. Xavier Truss
  2. Micah Morris
  3. Joshua Miller

Center

  1. Sedrick Van Pran
  2. Jared Wilson
  3. Austin Blaske
  4. Drew Bobo

Right Guard

  1. Tate Ratledge
  2. Dylan Fairchild
  3. Aliou Bah

Right Tackle

  1. Amarius Mims
  2. Chad Lindberg
  3. Bo Hughley
  4. Jamal Meriweather
  5. Kelton Smith Jr.

*** Smith being listed as tackle, even if it’s the fifth-team right tackle, is a bit surprising. He was considered a guard coming out of high school when he signed with the Bulldogs in the 2023 class.

Defensive End

  1. Mykel Williams or Tramel Walthour or Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins

*** The defensive end position looks exactly how it did last season when the Bulldogs listed all three guys as co-starters.

Defensive Tackle

  1. Warren Brinson or Zion Logue
  2. Jordan Hall
  3. Jonathan Jefferson

Nose Guard

  1. Nazir Stackhouse
  2. Christen Miller
  3. Jamaal Jarrett

*** Miller has been considered a defensive tackle since he arrived on campus but he’s listed behind Stackhouse, who’s expected to play the nose tackle position. He’ll likely play both interior positions, just like Logue, Hall, and Jefferson.

Outside Linebacker

  1. Chaz Chambliss
  2. Marvin Jones Jr.
  3. C.J. Madden
  4. Darris Smith
  5. Gabe Harris
  6. Samuel M’Pemba
  7. Damon Wilson II

*** Instead of putting two named outside linebacker positions on the depth chart the Bulldogs have opted to make one position and give it a general listing.

Inside Linebacker

  1. Jamon Dumas-Johnson
  2. Jalon Walker
  3. E.J. Lightsey
  4. Troy Bowles

Inside Linebacker

  1. Smael Mondon or Xavian Sorey or CJ Allen
  2. Raylen Wilson
  3. Terrell Foster

*** Mondon is questionable for this game after foot surgery in the spring. If he doesn’t start, Sorey is expected to be the guy. Allen is just a true freshman but is listed as a co-starter.

Cornerback

  1. Kamari Lassiter or Nyland Green
  2. AJ Harris
  3. Chris Peal

Safety

  1. Javon Bullard
  2. David Daniel-Sisavanh
  3. Jacorey Thomas

Safety

  1. Malaki Starks
  2. Dan Jackson
  3. Justyn Rhett

*** Dan Jackson might be the next man up at both safety positions. He has seen game action at both. He’s coming back from foot and hamstring injuries.

Cornerback

  1. Daylen Everette or Julian Humphrey
  2. Daniel Harris

STAR

  1. Tykee Smith
  2. Joenel Aguero
  3. Kyron Jones

Punt/Kickoff

  1. Brett Thorson
  2. Noah Jones

Placekicker/Kickoff

  1. Peyton Woodring or Jared Zirkel

Snapper

  1. William Mote
  2. Will Snellings

Holder

  1. Carson Beck
  2. Brock Vandagriff
  3. Gunner Stockton

*** Georgia is going with all quarterbacks in the holder roles after Stetson Bennett has done it the past two seasons.

Kickoff Return

  1. Mekhi Mews or Dillon Bell

Punt Return

  1. Ladd McConkey or Mekhi Mews or Dominic Lovett
