Georgia’s 2025 class took a big hit on Sunday morning when Manchester defensive lineman Justus Terry made it known that he would flip his commitment from the Bulldogs to USC. He had been committed to UGA for over a year before flipping, initially giving his pledge in January of 2024.

Terry was in Los Angeles for the Trojans big recruiting event and he plans to be back there in June for an official visit. Florida State is also expected to get an official visit. Georgia is also in line to get an official visit from Terry per his conversation with DawgsHQ last month.

Elijah Griffin, the No. 1 player in Georgia and the top defensive linemen in America, was also at USC this weekend and plans to take an official visit the same weekend as Terry. Griffin is considered a strong Georgia lean. Another Georgia pledge, four-star tight end Elyiss Williams (Camden County; Kingsland, Ga.) was also on the USC campus this weekend.

At 6-foot-4 275 pounds, Terry is the nation’s No. 8 overall prospect per the On3 Industry Rankings, a weighted average that incorporates all four sites that publish recruiting rankings. He’s the nation’s No. 2 defensive lineman and the No. 2 player in Georgia per those same rankings.

The Terry flip comes after a short run of good news for the Bulldogs. Georgia picked up a commitment from elite 2026 quarterback prospect Jared Curtis on Saturday. He’s ranked as the No. 14 overall prospect in his class. It also landed mammoth defensive tackle Stephon Shivers on Friday, a member of the 2025 class. Both are from the state of Tennessee.

Prior to losing Terry from the commitment list, Georgia ranked No. 3 in the On3 Industry Team Rankings. Now it ranks No. 10 with five total commitments. The Bulldogs had the nation’s No. 1 class in the 2024 recruiting cycle and ranked No. 2 in 2023.
