Key Storyline for Indiana basketball

Can Indiana basketball play a full game of consistent defense?

There is no question that Darian DeVries has installed tough defense into this Indiana basketball team this season. Are they are a little over aggressive at times? Sure, but nonetheless they will at least bring toughness on that end of the floor.

Where Indiana struggles right now are the fundamentals defensively. Overall, it has not been as bad as what it could have been, but when looking at last week’s game vs Milwaukee, there were certainly some defensive lapses that allowed the Panthers to stay in the game longer than they needed to.

The offense in which Indiana plays with is always going to keep them in a game, but for Indiana to take that next step, they need to find consistency on the defensive end.

Matchup History

Indiana and Incarnate Word will play on the hardwood for the first time. The Hoosiers hold a 9-0 record against teams competing in the Southland Conference.

Indiana basketball Injury Report

Nick Dorn – Dorn returned to the floor for this time this season and was able to get a few minutes. He finished with 8 points and looks to be slowly getting back into the rotation.

Josh Harris – Harris has an ankle/foot injury that has sidelined him most of the fall. Darian DeVries stated on his radio show that he “will be out for awhile.”

Jason Drake – The transfer guard from Drexel has missed nearly all the offseason for Indiana basketball with a lower body injury. It is unclear at this time how much longer he will be out but all signs point to it being at least the first month of play.

Aleksa Ristic – Ristic developed a lower body injury in the fall which forced him to miss some time with Indiana basketball. It is unclear how long he will be out.
