Class of 2027 in-state standout Braylon Bingham has made his college decision. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Pleasantville native announced today that he has accepted a scholarship offer from the Iowa coaching staff and will be playing linebacker for the Hawkeyes.

“I’m staying home,” Bingham told HawkeyeReport.com. “I’m going to be a Hawkeye.”

Bingham, who grew up a Hawkeye fan, chose Iowa over a scholarship offer from Iowa State.

“I would say the biggest factor in making this decision was just going with my heart,” said Bingham. “Some long talks with my family made me realize the value and importance of the opportunity I have.”

As a junior, Bingham was a playmaker all over the field for Pleasantville. As a quarterback, he threw for 1,492 yards and 16 touchdowns and had 909 yards rushing with seven touchdowns on the ground. On defense, he finished the season with 60.5 tackles and 2.5 tackles for loss, and had 180 return yards and one touchdown on special teams as well this year.

A four-sport athlete, Bingham also had considerable Division I interest in baseball. Currently, he is averaging 20.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per game in basketball and is also a standout in track.

Overall, Bingham is commitment No. 2 for the Hawkeyes, as he joins fellow in-state linebacker Gavin Stecker in Iowa’s 2027 recruiting class.

“I’m excited for the next step in my journey,” Bingham said. “I know it’s going to take a lot of hard work and time, but that’s always a challenge I am up for. I’m thankful for this opportunity, but I know there is much work to be done.”
