On Wednesday, the LSU football staff reeled in a new commitment from one of the top 2024 recruits in America.

Louisiana four-star tight end Trey’Dez Green announced his commitment to LSU during a ceremony at East Feliciana High.

Green, the No. 3 tight end in the country on the On3 Industry Rankings, picked LSU over a double-digit offer list that included a final group of Alabama, Texas A&M, Tennessee and Miami.

“It’s home, it’s family, it’s where I reside at,” Green said. “They treat me just like I’m family.”

Green is ranked as the No. 59 overall prospect in the country and No. 2 recruit in Louisiana.

LSU gets a TE with upside in Green

Green is already ranked as one of the nation’s best tight ends, and the ceiling is high for the multi-sport standout.

At 6-foot-6, 225 pounds, Green made a major jump on the football field this past fall.

After focusing on basketball for much of his middle school and high school career, Green’s shift to football took center stage as a sophomore when he became a starter at East Feliciana. He finished the year with 350 receiving yards and no touchdowns.

As a junior this past fall, the big leap came. Green, who lined up at both tight end and wide receiver, finished the season with 42 catches for 864 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Green’s offer list continued to grow, and he moved up in the rankings this offseason – settling inside the Top 60 overall prospects on the On3 Industry Rankings.

Green still has a year of high school football in front of him, then he will join the LSU roster for the 2024 season.

Green will get a chance with LSU basketball, too

Green is not only one of the top high school football prospects in the country, but he also picked up a handful of offers from college basketball programs.

The 6-foot-6 power forward has been a star on the hardwood at East Feliciana while playing AAU basketball for the Louisiana Broncos.

LSU head coach Matt McMahon and the Tigers offered Green a verbal scholarship to join the basketball program, and Green has since met with the LSU coaching staff multiple times about his college decision.

With Green’s commitment to the LSU football team, his scholarship will come from head coach Brian Kelly, but McMahon has given Green the opportunity to walk on and join the roster, if he chooses.
