The latest shuffling to the 2025 On3 Industry Rankings have brought with it a new five-star in Louisiana running back Harlem Berry.

Berry is ranked by the On3 Industry Rankings as not just a five-star, but the No. 1 running back prospect in America and the No. 12 overall prospect in next year’s recruiting cycle.

Berry’s On3 ranking is even higher, checking in as the No. 1 running back and No. 8 overall prospect in the 2025 class.

The St. Martin’s Episcopal (Metairie, La.) standout remains the No. 1 overall prospect in Louisiana.

This offseason, On3 circled Berry as 2025’s best RB prospect

In May, On3 named Berry the No. 1 running back in the 2025 class, and he stayed put in the same spot when the rankings were updated earlier this week.

“We knew the type of athlete he was, but seeing the feel for running was very impressive,” On3 National Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power said when naming Berry No. 1. “He hits some marks from a production standpoint. Doesn’t play the strongest competition, but dominates at a level that you would hope for from a prospect of his caliber. The player, there’s a ton to like with him.

“His burst, play speed and ability to change directions on a dime are arguably the best in the cycle. He backed that up with a great track season, culminating in state titles in 100 meters (10.57 seconds) and 200 meters (21.43 seconds).”

For a glimpse into the type of prospect the junior out of St. Martin is, look no further than track-and-field state titles in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes as well as 4,723 all-purpose yards and 67 touchdowns across his freshman and sophomore seasons. Berry’s On3 comparison is former Texas and NFL star Jamaal Charles, while others sees the same similar running styles as players like Reggie Bush and the late Joe McKnight. Simply put, he’s elite – and he’s the highest-ranked running back out of Louisiana since Leonard Fournette.

A decision is coming soon for Berry

On December 18, the Louisiana five-star running back will reveal his college choice.

With Berry ranked as the No. 1 running back in the country and a Top 10 overall prospect on On3, it will be one of the biggest dominos to fall in the 2025 cycle.

The 5-foot-11, 180 pounder is down to three finalists: LSU, Texas and Florida.

Now that a decision date is set, what are LSU’s chances of keeping Berry home in the Bayou State for college? There are five On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) picks in, and all five are on LSU. That includes predictions from The Bengal Tiger’s Shea Dixon and Billy Embody.

LSU already owns Top-5 class in 2025 cycle

Kelly and the Tigers have already made their fair share of noise on the recruiting trail in the 2025 cycle.

LSU’s junior class features five commits and ranks No. 4 in the nation, per the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

The commitment list is headlined by Duncanville (Texas) Five-Star Plus+ wide receiver Dakorien Moore, On3’s No. 4 overall prospect in the cycle. He’s flanked by a trio of in-state four-stars: Sulphur tight end JD LaFleur, New Orleans Isidore Newman interior offensive lineman Brett Bordelon and New Orleans Edna Kerr WR TaRon Francis, with each checking in as On3’s highest-ranked prospect at their position in Louisiana. Loganville (Ga.) Grayson three-star cornerback Jaylen Bell rounds out the five-man commitment list.

In addition to Berry, LSU is also currently trending on the On3 RPM for Louisiana four-star linebacker Keylan Moses and Belleville (Mich.) Five-Star Plus+ quarterback Bryce Underwood, the No. 1 overall prospect in the 2025 class.

Moses will reveal his college choice on November 30, while Underwood will make his announcement on January 6.
