Michigan has demolished Ohio State for the second straight season.

The Wolverines ran away with a 45-23 victory, which caught the attention of one recruit in particular — five-star athlete Nyckoles Harbor.

The Washington (D.C.) Archbishop Carroll prospect had a game of his own on Saturday afternoon but smiled from ear-to-ear as soon as he learned about U-M’s win in The Game.

“They beat them by a really wide margin,” Harbor said. “That’s a really good win for Michigan. That’s a really big statement. Everybody thought Ohio State was going to come back and said it was going to be a revenge game. But Michigan showed they are the true kings of the Big Ten East.”

With his senior season coming to a close, Harbor will now turn his attention to recruiting.

He has December official visits planned to Maryland and Georgia and will also see LSU in January. Harbor made fall official visits to both Michigan and South Carolina. He is set to make his final decision during the late period in February.

A winter unofficial visit to Michigan could be in the cards, but for now, Harbor is keeping in close contact with the U-M staff, especially lead recruiter Ron Bellamy, who stopped by to see him during the team’s bye week.

“We have had some amazing talks,” Harbor said. “We talked about what positions I’m going to be playing after high school. He talked about letting me eat in the Michigan offense and hopefully being the No. 1 pick in the draft one day. We have a really great relationship.”

Michigan has been a constant in the recruitment of Harbor and remains a major player heading into the final stretch of his process.

“Michigan is still really high for me,” Harbor said. “It’s the best of both worlds. They are really high on my list.”

Harbor was once regarded as one of the nation’s premier pass rushers. However, he prefers to play on the offensive side of the football and has talked to U-M and others about starting off at wide receiver or tight end. This will allow him to better preserve his body for track.

Along with being a top football recruit, Harbor is also one of the best high school sprinters in the country, running a 10.22 100-meter this summer.

At 6-foot-5, 225 pounds, Harbor is ranked as the No. 1 athlete and No. 13 overall recruit nationally, per the On3 Consensus.
