Michigan has added an intriguing prospect to its 2023 recruiting class.

St. Louis (Mo.) Cardinal Ritter College Prep wide receiver Fredrick Moore committed to Michigan on Friday afternoon, he announced via Twitter. He picked the Wolverines over offers from Illinois, Michigan State, Iowa, Texas A&M, Penn State, and a handful of others.

Michigan offered Moore only a few months ago. However, the relationships between he and the staff progressed quickly and were solidified on his recent official visit.

Michigan receivers coach Ron Bellamy was a major factor in this recruitment for Moore and was the primary reason the official visit took place.

“Me and coach Bellamy are cool,” Moore said. “I can call him anytime I want and we can just have a normal conversation. He is a coach I really look up to.”

Before the visit, Moore said there were certain attributes he wanted to see before he would make a decision. Now that he is committed, it is safe to say the Michigan staff met his needs. Here is what he said about the visit.

“I just really wanted to see the community and a fan base that really wanted me. Also, just wanted to see a school that wants me for me, can take me in and develop me into an NFL player and a school that my family and I can trust to send me off too,” Moore said.

Moore is the second wide receiver in the 2023 class for Michigan, joining West Bloomfield (Mich.) prospect Semaj Morgan.

At 6-foot, 180 pounds, Moore ranks as the No. 77 wide receiver and No. 511 overall recruit, per the On3 Consensus. Michigan now holds seven commitments in the 2023 class, five on the offensive side of the ball.
