Cb Commit Has Elite Versatility Jo'ziah Edmond Michigan Football Recruiting Wolverines

Four-star Michigan cornerback commit Jo’Ziah Edmond caught the game-sealing two-point conversion last week in Nappanee (Ind.) NorthWood’s sectional championship win.

The Wolverine’s Zach Libby was onsite and captured exclusive clips from the contest. Watch highlights of Edmond in the video above.

Edmond Recruitment

Edmond committed to Michigan on August 1, which came soon after his second-ever unofficial visit on campus for the annual BBQ at The Big House. He was formerly pledged to Purdue, but backed out of his decision and chose the Wolverines the same day.

“What really stood out to me about Michigan is that they care,” Edmond previously told The Wolverine. “The coaches care about the team and the players. Going in knowing that I have coaches by my side to help me get through everything that I deal with (is great).”

Co-defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach Steve Clinkscale built a strong bond with Edmond and his family throughout the summer, which resulted in the senior becoming the first true cornerback in the 2024 recruiting class to pick Michigan.

“The relationship between me and Coach Clink is amazing,” Edmond said. “We talk almost every day. Before my game, he actually texted me and told me, ‘Good luck’ and things like that. Me and Coach Clink’s bond is very close.”

At 6-foot-1, 180 pounds, Edmond is listed as the No. 294 overall prospect and No. 11 athlete in the country, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four primary recruiting media services. He’s also the No. 5 player in Indiana.

Michigan’s 2024 recruiting class is No. 15 overall in the On3 Industry National team Recruiting Rankings. It features four commits listed in the Top 100 – Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day quarterback Jadyn Davis, Cincinnati (Ohio) Archbishop Moeller running back Jordan Marshall, Rochester (Mich.) Adams tight end Brady Prieskorn, Kansas City (Mo.) Rockhurst offensive tackle Andrew Sprague.
